Me and my partner stayed at Sol Timor for 4 nights (room only). The transfer from Malaga was only approx 30 mins. When we arrived the man on reception was very friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. We entered our room on the 8th floor, the room was big enough for the two of us and the view from our balcony was amazing! There was a decent sized bathroom with a hairdryer and waterfall shower and a completely separate small kitchen area with everything you would need! The location is PERFECT! We walked everywhere in those 4 days, if you walk to the left along the front you get to lots of cafes, shops and bars. Walk to the right and in less than 5 mins you're at the beautiful marina with more shops, bars and restaurants! Benalmadina is just the other side of the Marina too, they have a cable car attraction that takes you up the mountain which isn't well advertised but worth a visit if you fancy something different, I think it was about €30 for both of us (return journey). The staff and other visitors to the hotel were lovely, there was literally nothing negative we could say! Obviously, there's things they could improve on (double bed was 2 singles together and the cups for tea/coffee were tiny) but as a whole, we couldn't fault it... the animation team were so good with the kids that were there and it was safe for kids as there's no road between the hotel and the promenade and beach. We felt so at home there and chilled out that we've already booked to take our 2 boys (3 and 6) back there for a week in August. It was my boyfriends birthday whilst we were there and we were so surprised when we were getting ready to go out in the evening and someone knocked on the door with a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses with a birthday message... it was so thoughtful and a really lovely thing to do!!! If you're just looking for a relaxing, laid back, fun holiday, no fancy frills etc. Then Sol Timor is the right choice.…
Perfect location right on beach front, close to all amenities. Very clean. Was my husband's birthday the day we arrived and there was a bottle of Prosecco in room after we checked in, which was a lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Stayed here for four nights, it was only going to be a place where we could sleep, grab some breakfast and head out from at night. Rooms were basic, ours didn't seem to have properly working air-con and had a bit of a mouldy smell. Food was average, the area around the hotel has bars and restaurants, Bombay Grill was excellent, but it could also be like the wild west around the hotel later on.
Pros. - excellent location with direct access to beach. Pool area was amazing. Shop and laundry on site which is helpful. Bar staff were very accomodating. Cons. - stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was supposed to be refurbished. We were thoroughly shocked at the standard. There was a socket hanging off the wall in the kitchen and others were loose. Bathroom sink did not retain water and there was mould around the shower. Shower screen ineffective so floor always wet. Towels were changed regularly. Large stain on sofa bed. Socket was fixed after reporting but nothing done with the sink. The balcony was very dirty and rails rusty. The balcony doors rattled. Internet in apartment was virtually non existent. There was no hand sanitizer in the apartment although there was hand soap and shampoo provided in the bathroom. There was only one English news channel and don’t know what people with young children would make of that. 20 euro charge for safe key (5 euro of which was refunded when returned on checkout. The apartment block we were put in was very isolated from reception. Reception staff were unable to provide information on local buses which I found astonishing. There were no information leaflets around the reception for guests. Expected a lot more from a Melia building. Was bitterly disappointed and will definitely not return.…
Stayed here for a week during the Easter holiday. We stayed in a sea view 2 bedroom apartment. There are pros and cons to the resort. Cons: Apartment was nice, some small issues like the sliding doors to the balcony were very stiff and noisy and didn't close properly so on windy days they rattle. The balcony was very poor, alot could be done to make it a nice space. Air conditioning didn't work so if it is very hot I could see it being very uncomfortable. Thankfully it didn't impact us during our stay. Soundproofing was abysmal, we had very noisy neighbours who liked to come in at 2 am and put on music and get intimate. Every noise and moan was heard as if they were in the room with you. Bring earplugs if like me you are a light sleeper. The pool was freezing, not sure what way it is during the summer. Pros: Location is fantastic, so much around the hotel. Kids Club staff are fantastic, so much so that my daughter cried all the way to the airport as she was gonna miss kids club! Happy hour is good, be prepared for a queue, can't imagine what it would be like during peak season! Good supermarket on-site, they even have vending machines and a pharmacy vending machine if you get stuck. Overall it was a really nice place, little things to improve it would make a huge difference. Great for families!…
