Upon entering the reception I thought “wow!” It looked very grand, fresh and bright so we were off to a good start. Check in turned out to be VERY painful. Our server spoke very little English and told us half of what he was supposed to. We overheard other people being checked in by different members of staff who appeared to have a much better experience and we managed to earwig most of what we needed to know. Our room wasn’t ready (we were an hour early so no biggy) however when we came back over an hour later, it was part ready…. And no baby cot in it as requested twice. This was soon rectified though. Now the room we booked was a side sea view room - it was tiny! Not big enough for 1 adult let alone 2 adults and a small child. Maybe an error on our part but booking for 3 people i’d expect a room much bigger. The sea view was pants as we were near the front of the hotel. The walls were paper thin and the rooms were pretty grubby and tired looking. The housekeeping staff were lovely though and towels and bed linen changed regularly. The pools were way too cold in our opinion. Again, maybe for the time of year we were expecting too much but wasn’t really bearable for long periods of time - the sea was in fact warmer! And considering we had outstanding weather routing our week it was a disappointment that the pools were so cold. The indoor pool was a nice touch but like the rooms, this was very grubby. No food/drinks being served to you either, you have to go to the bar which I wouldn’t expect for a 4 star hotel. Food was actually pretty decent for buffet food, however very samey (like most are) and there weren’t any themed nights which was a big shame. We were all inclusive but we ate out for 3 of our 7 nights due to the boredom of it. Weirdly apple juice wasn’t included in the AI package but every other juice was….! Same as strawberry daiquiris were, but mango ones weren’t….! Bar staff in the main bar were very good, but again you’d have to go and queue at the bar as there was no table service. We were pleasantly surprised with the evening entertainment as it was better than we were expecting. The mini disco was a write off though as it involved one member of staff dancing to 2 songs. For the price we paid and the great weather we had it was overall a good holiday, however this hotel certainly isn’t a 4 star and nor will we be returning to it.

Hotel's Favourite
The Don Pablo is beautiful, peaceful and clean, there was a lovely holiday atmosphere and a great buzz, the staff are exceptionally friendly and patient. Sadly my elderly mother was unwell with a medical emergency so we had to leave/check-out after a couple of hours. The hotel staff, in particularly Ana who was on reception and the manager, treated us so kindly and with so much compassion, and refunded our room costs. We are hugely grateful and will most definitely return as soon as possible. Thank you so much.

Rooms seem to be tired, clear signs of wearing off, room seem to be clean but not really, try walking bare feet :) although cleaning personnel visited daily and changed linen and towels very efficiently. Sound isolation is poor, you can hear whilst your next door neighbour takes a shower, brushes teeth, argues with the other half, etc … the reception lady on the first night was friendly but struggled with Englisg…. Wi-FI works sporadically, although shows as full coverage, but simple pages take ages to load. Shower pressure was very very low on the first night, water either boiling or cold, informed the reception in the morning, but issue remained until second reminder the next day. Thanks to Rachel, she managed to solve every query. Car rent was efficient , although the same first night lady had to been asked twice to phone the company. Man at the reception seemed to be there only to be there, no interest in answering your query or making any helpful advice whatsoever. Smoking in the balcony is allowed, which is an annoyance to non-smokers, smell goes into the room. The hotel is very well located, beach is just across the road, plenty of bars and restaurants around, convenience stores, promenade, the train station nearby, taxi to the airport 17-20eur. I would probably try another establishment next time, a bit of a disappointment after many years with Melia.

Room 2349 third floor very nice. Got the late afternoon sun. The hotel staff are nice but it's all a bit impersonal. No location map provided off all facilities. There is a tv screen that infrequently gives info but they ask you to download app which details info. We are in our 70s and are not that tech savvy. Also no bottle of water on arrival . One small soap in bathroom. A big plus are the cleaners. The hotel is spotless with cleaning going on from morning to night. Some nice resteraunts just outside, Breakfast was great . But arrived first morning no staff to advise so you find your own way around which is not difficult.
