This is a lovely place. Very chic and elegant. Lovely beach and beautiful beach furniture especially the large beds. Great food. Apartments are excellent too. You will feel like a millionaire. First class. Muchas gracias.
We stayed at the Playa Miguel for 27 days. Booked a sea view studio apartment on Booking.com. I was a bit confused whether the room I booked had a lift to access it. On arrival, found the room was in the block next door which doesnt have a lift. However, this was no problem to the Hotel. They offered us a drink straight away and then realising we would struggle without a lift, offered us a street view room for 6 days and then moved us to a sea view room for the remaining 21 days for the same price in the main building which does have a lift. We were so impressed with this Aparthotel, they never stop cleaning everywhere, which includes the bar and the Beach Club bar. Our sea view room contained a full size fridge, kettle, microwave, 2 ring cooker and an assortment of crockery, glasses, pans and some cutlery. The bathroom with the walk in shower contained the biggest rain shower head I have ever seen. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There is food available, burgers, salads, snacks, some very large sandwiches and if you buy a portion of chips, there is enough for about 6 people! You do get a free breakfast which includes, tea, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and you can have a hot breakfast, eg bacon and egg baguette, eggs on toast, cheese baguette etc. All the staff work extremely hard and were so helpful when on occasion my partner was struggling to walk. Overall, I highly recommend the Playa Miguel, great location, fabulous staff, we thank you all.…
Spent 3 Nights Room 3 in this beautiful Apartment AS A TREAT by Special Friends who had previously stayed. Clean, Spacious, beds and pillows Very comfortable which is SO important after taking in all the sights The sunrises and sunsets are magical! You can go further afield very easily on buses and the train which is Spotless.! A few very small niggles it would of been nice to have a few toiletries and maybe a bottle of water in the room on arrival. But this aside staff very Friendly and helpful a single traveller would feel very at ease staying in these apartments Until Next Time, Thank you
This beach apartment has a fantastic location but has a slightly unusual setup. I would give this a 3.5/4 star rating but I only stayed 2 nights and I think if I came back, I would be happy for 4/5 days. There is no street for the taxi to drop you off (I was dropped in a nearby dead-end street and had to cart my luggage up and down steps), but there is a taxi rank at the bottom of the Playa Palomas Beach Hotel which is closeby. Upon arriving, at the back of the Aparthotel, the gated door does not open, but one enters through the restaurant. There is no reception desk. I had to find a staff member, in order to check in, who was most friendly and waited an hour for my room but was given a welcome drink. It does say in the blurb on TripAdvisor 'they all have balconies overlooking the sea' which isn't true as my twin room overlooked the back walkway, which, was fine as it was probably quieter than the beachfront at night. I did, though, use earplugs as the noise from the street was slightly audible. If you arrive after 9pm the door to the apartments will be locked therefore, staff will show you how to enter as this is for security. Anyone off the beach can gain access to the apartments hence the good multiple locking system on the individual apartment doors. BEDROOM: I could feel the springs in the bed, the linen was clean, and the apartment had a kitchenette (which I didn't use). The room was sprayed with air freshener to disguise the smell of smoke and cooking but the air-con which didn't give out much cold air, could do with a good clean from the dust and probably the filters too. BATHROOM: It was clean and looked newish, but one comment from Tripadvisor mentioned: well equipped, but mine only had 2 bars of small soap and towels. There is a lift which is handy for heavy suitcases, but if you want to use the room safe, you will need to purchase the lock and key for €3 a day or €15 for the week. I couldn't get my first key to work so had to swap for another lock. The apartment has free wifi. There is a sun lounger (solarium) area on the top floor but I imagine it gets quite hot as there's no pool. BREAKFAST: A bit confusing reading the note about breakfast on the room chit (tea/coffee, toast/baguette?) but suffice to say, you can have a small fresh orange juice and a hot breakfast as well as tea/coffee. BEACH: Is only a few feet away, which is why I booked here. The basic sun lounger and umbrella is €6, and it is more pricy for the cabanas at €45 for the day. I had an excellent massage which was €40 for an hour or €25 for 30 mins. The beach has black sand with a few shells therefore, I didn't really need my swimming shoes but beware, if you are a non-smoker, there is a lot of chain-smoking on the beach which I found distasteful and had trouble escaping it. Quite a few people also had fly swats because of the extraordinary amount of flys. It's a lovely stroll along the promenade, and there are loads of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. I ate at the Playa Miguel restaurant one night, which had a basic selection of food and seemed inexpensive, but the staff didn't seem to be overly attentive which didn't seem to bother me as I liked to be left alone. The car ride to the airport was approximately 20mins which is great. If you want a non-fussy, basic accommodation close to the beach where you know you will be left to your own devices, this is the place for you.…
What a fantastic bar, full of life and fabulous staff! Service is brilliant. Great atmosphere at night and doesn't close until the last person leaves. If you want a good lunch or a lovely evening meal it's the place to be.
