Revamped Royal Townhouse Once the summer residence of Empress Eugenia de Montijo (Napoleon III´s wife), Hotel Claude Marbella is a 17th- century townhouse that has been revamped and restyled to meld authentic period features with modern design, setting a new benchmark in the boutique-is- beautiful league of southern Spanish hotels. This latest chic retreat takes its name from the late Claude Devoize, the French Opera singer, whose home this townhouse was back in the 70s and 80s, hosting endless soirees and cultural gatherings. The focus of Hotel Claude is its marble-flagged patio and its unique romantic roof terrace, overlooking the bustling old town of Marbella. The seven rooms, divided into 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms and 1 Suite, have been designed individually and each boasting their own unique personality and feel, though all come equipped with the latest in comfort and technology. The Suite Francesca is the only room that looks out onto the old town’s main street. A large balcony and a huge floor-to-ceiling window keep it bright and airy, and the high, wood-beamed ceilings and decorative arch leading to the minimalist mosaic-fitted bathroom create a sense of spaciousness. All 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms are located to the back of the building, overlooking neighbouring patios and roofs. Up in the eaves, The Flamand room overlooks the roof terrace and has its own private stairwell leading up to a smart loft-style studio with glossy oak floors and a semi-open-plan bathroom. Listening to the church chime outside and looking out over the steeple, you feel like a princess in a tower. Savannah and North African-themed Marroqui are joined by a courtyard, making them ideal for families or friends travelling together. Small properties can sometimes feel stifling, but not here, and the design incorporates a flurry of velvet, purples, reds and cream colours. Once the a la carte breakfast has been served on the roof terrace or the black and white themed “bijou” style dining room, guests are left to their own devices. Focusing on showing guests a slice of the old Marbella, in addition to the Costa del Sol´s beaches and golf courses, Hotel Claude emphasises on slowing down and enjoying the surroundings. You´d be hard-pressed to find a retreat as slick or private as The Claude anywhere in Marbella.

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Claude Marbella, truly an amazing place in the heart of the old town. I wasn’t expecting anything close to the experience we had and we will definitely be back. All in all, a big surprise and the 3 stars they have doesn’t pay them the tribute they deserve. Staff couldn’t have been more lovely. Highly recommendable 👍

This is a place where you want to be and feel really welcome. The manager and his team have done their maximum to make us feel as comfortable as possible in these hard times where Covid-19 is impacting everybody. They didn’t accept offering a lower service. For us it was a unique experience since we are always looking for hotels with a personal touch like this, but it’s very hard to find. The rooms and common spaces are beautiful and better than on the presented pictures, the breakfast is very fresh and more than complete, the service is triple A+ and the location is great. I wish there were more hotels like this where love and offering the guests an awesome time is leading. We will stay there again!

A beautiful boutique hotel situated in the heart of the old town, perfect for walking to all the restaurants and bars. The rooms are stylishly furnished and are very comfortable. A wonderful breakfast served on the roof terrace with views over the town to the sea and the mountains. The staff are extremely friendly and professional and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. It has the added bonus of secure, free parking a couple of minutes walk away. Now we know that it is there it will be our first choice of a place to stay whenever visiting Marbella

It is safe to say, Hotel Claude Marbella sets a standard par excellence in hospitality. The three nights here have been my best experience in all of Europe when it comes to service and thoughtful customer experience. There are little details about the experience that make this place all the more appealing- from beautiful rooms, chocolates and fresh fruits to welcome the guests and an absolutely delectable breakfast.. They have created a highly curated, well designed and most importantly warm atmosphere in this heritage property with not just the decor and facilities but also top class, extremely well trained staff. Hind was our main point of contact, however all of the staff that we met during our stay (Cornelia, Olivia and the gentleman who was on night shift) were all wonderful and highly skilled at making the environment actually feel like luxury but with at home comfort. We unfortunately were pickpocketed on the street and when we informed the hotel, Hind also went out of her way to help us lodge a complaint with the police and tried all that she could to comfort us. All in all, having travelled across many countries in Europe, I believe this place has set a standard that I doubt anyone will be able to surpass. Worth every penny spent! Pro tip- book on their website for the best prices with breakfast packages.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights last week - our second visit to Hotel Claude. The hotel is in a great old town location, spotlessly clean, quiet with absolutely first class service. We had a superb, beautifully presented breakfast in bed every morning. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and very professional. Would definitely recommend staying here - perfect!

This is a 3 star hotel with 5 star attributes! A stylish, beautiful ,well equipped and very comfortable renovation of an historic mansion in Marbella's old town. The staff were charming and extremely helpful and our breakfast on the sunny roof terrace was absolutely the best ever. We highly recommend this excellent small hotel to those wishing to experience the real Marbella .and will certainly return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I’m not sure I’ve anything new to add here other than to endorse the previous 5 star reviews. This is a wonderful small hotel. Incredibly attentive yet unobtrusive service - with attention to every detail. So many nice touches including loads of complimentary stuff which just makes you feel really welcome and enhances the sense that staying here combines luxury with real value for your money. Stayed in a superior deluxe room (Huelva) which was relatively modest in size but had everything needed and was well designed. The room has no balcony or terrace but you don’t need it with the rooftop terrace one floor up. Breakfast was great. All of the people working at the hotel could not have been more helpful without over doing it! They asked when we checked out what they could improve upon and we said “absolutely nothing”.
