Recently stayed at the Melia with a group of friends. The staff were very helpful. Moving loungers each day at the pool to allow us seating together. Hotel is in a great position to walk to local amenities. Food and drinks by the pool are ideal and reasonably priced. Special mention to the reception staff who were always super friendly and helpful. We will be back ! L💜
One of the main reasons we come to this hotel is because my children love the kiddy club. The 2x Cristina's and Jordi were fantastic. There is a weekly timetable of activities including painting, t-shirt making, mini chef, salt bottles, games, dancing, water games and much more. This year my children (and I) were especially happy at the introduction of the night time activities from 21:30 until 23:00.
We booked a 5 night stay at Melia Marbella Banus. On arrival we were allocated two rooms overlooking a car park on the ground floor, it was unpleasant. The polite, young man on reception swiftly moved us to Rooms 245/251, these were on the second floor and south facing. I was extremely disappointed to find the old lagoon pool, fenced off and now an overgrown bird sanctuary (this being one of the most beautiful parts of the hotel in the past. It was clearly noticeable that during the hotel upgrade, things had been done on the cheap - compromising quality. A hotel charging £200+ per night, should understand the level of service and quality they need to offer (e.g. courtesy rooms for guests who may be travelling late etc). Food and drinks in the hotel were nice but i would recommend the ‘Level’ where you can enjoy all of the nice extras! Overall we had a nice stay here but would not rush back…
This is a nice hotel and is worth the upgrade to The Level. Found the staff to be engaging and polite. Only fault was the Rain Shower head over the bath was not tall enough, and could be dangerous for a person who is 196cm. The hotel stated there were no walk in showers. Also beware this is a ' Hen ' party destination. Overall a pleasant stay. If you have a car beware of no parking spaces outside and the levy for parking at the hotel expensive.
The hotel is well located within walking distance of Banus. The rooms were roomy and well appointed. The restaurants are good and the breakfast selection excellent. However, the last two nights of our stay, which was over a UK Bank Holiday weekend, was spoilt by disturbance throughout the night by stag and hen parties. Whilst the staff made some efforts to address the issue it had little effect. This is a large hotel with different sections and better planning of room allocations to ensure hen and stag parties are located together would perhaps help to address the issue.
