Marbella beach has Venus beach which has a really long promenade which runs along many beaches. This has views over the harbour, has the lighthouse and lots of cafes and restaurants. It is a very relaxed atmosphere in November, on the beach and it has beach beds to hire should you wish. At night time there are often superb views of the setting sun.

Great resort with everything on site. Several in- and outdoor pools, restaurants, a gym, a food market, beach chairs and umbrellas. Activities for all, play room for kids etc etc. Great rooms, with really good beds, separate restrooms in 2 & 3-bedroom apartments, balcony or terrace, fully equiped kitchen and washroom (dishwasher, micro, toaster, coffee machines, washing machine, dryer etc). pool towels (no need to fill half a bag with your own) etc. Really good service. pool guards, play leaders etc. A high level resort for everyone, that has everything. Only 30 minutes from Malaga airport.

This was a timeshare swap for us, but the experience was like a staying at a 5-star resort (which it was in my humble opinion). The reception staff friendly and very accommodating. The housekeeping staff professional and attentive and quite friendly when we interacted. There was a freak rain/thunder storm, an maintenance guys were on top of everything and no inconvenience to any of the guests! Other than the thunder, it was a great and quiet resort. Huge room, everything worked, nice mattress, clean and functional everything!

One of the best nude beaches in Europe, loved the beach as well as the cool breeze. Nice eating options, connectivity is good too via road transport. Beware though - sun can be scorching during summer

The three bedroom apartment had terraces all around and another terrace on the roof as well. It looked directly across the swimming pool and on out to the Mediterranean Sea. On a clear day you can see Africa looming over the horizon. Staff were fantastic too. The apartment was equipped to the last detail and very comfortable. There was a large basement car park and well kept gardens. This was heaven for the week we stayed and I would have no hesitation returning again and again.

Booked at fairly short notice and was initially impressed with the email communication with the staff. Not overly impressed that part of this was on their insistence that payment was made up front. They did not accept Amex so they were asking for another form of payment. There is a three night minimum stay, or so we were told. On arrival at the property we were confused as there was no reception. I had arrived by hire car and had passed a hotel nearby so thought I’d pop in there to ask if they had any idea. It turns out the Heritage Hotel is the reception. By chance I’d found out. Point of note, I was told they shut reception at 11pm. Jorge on reception was exceptional and without fault. Professional and friendly. The room was dated in decor but a decent enough size. There was no Wi-fi that would would connect for us, and on further research I found that it is paid Wi-fi. In this day and age, I would expect fast and free Wi-fi. It is such a cheap commodity and for anyone living in the 21st century becoming essential for entertainment and staying in touch with the outside world. The overwhelming short coming was the assault on the senses. There was an awful smell of cigarettes throughout our apartment and very strong in the corridor to our room. The decor was poor and dated. Very 1980s or at best early 90s. The walls and floors are thin. We could hear people going to the toilet, stomping around in their rooms and generally disturbing our own personal space. Plenty of assaults on the senses. The beds are small. My feet were off the end of the bed. One comedic moment saw the shower shoot straight up the shower pole attachment, fling itself off the attachment and spray water with the power of a fire hose around the bathroom. The water pressure is fine! I tried bringing the faults to the hotel’s attention but the phone didn’t work so my wife and I had to walk the 200m or so to and from the reception to the room. We decided to cut our three day stay short and book somewhere closer to Marbella proper (Marbella is a 15-20min drive away) having been told by a lady receptionist that moving room was not possible, nor was any refund available. I was told she had tired to call, but the phone wasn’t working. Comedy of errors or what?! We cut our losses as holidays are about relaxation and the issues meant that relaxation was impossible. The good points are the pool is nice, the apartments were clean (if smelly with cigarette smoke), very close to the beach, breakfast was great in the beach front restaurant, there were two supermarkets only a 5min walk away, the excellent Nikki Beach is only a 10min walk away and parking was free on the street. Three stars as Jorge was excellent and the size and location of accommodation were OK. It’s OK, just not great. And smelly.

As I am writing this review, it's very hard to come up with criticism. Everything was very good, the weather, the friendly staff, the food, the pools, the activities, the room. Maybe one little thing, the beach club should clean their tables and chairs more properly. Sticky tables and seats are not that comfortable and attractive to bugs.

Lovely apartments - VERY clean - well equipped. The place feels very secure - CCTV cameras - security gates - and a security patrol - all added to the feeling of safety. The welcome was very warm even though we arrived very late - check in is at the hotel next door - the reception staff are excellent. The pool is very clean and there was no shortage of sun beds and parasols. A gate from the pool leads to the beach - not more than a 200m walk. Four restaurants are within easy walking distance and we tried them all. Our nearest - le Papillon - was good for breakfast, lunch and dinner - drinks too - their gin and tonic is highly recommended. Two supermarkets are within walking distance as is a cash machine. We had a car but you could easily survive here without one.

We arrived late at night, a little tired. When entering the apartment my wife complained of the stale smell and was of the mind that we had made a mistake. Over the course of the following few days we realised in fact that we had indeed been very fortunate to be staying in the apartment due to location, facilities and the ease at which we could get to marbella centre. The kids loved it. We were of the opinion that the furniture in the apartment was a little dated, but it ticked most of the boxes and we enjoyed our stay. What more do you want ?
