We stayed in Villa Alicia for 3 days and that was pretty nice. Rooms are small but tidy and were cleaned daily. The small terrace is nice, and all the blossoming trees smell unbelievable! There was breakfast in the hotel (3-4 EUR), but we didn't used to try it. It is 15-20 mins walk to a city center. The street...

We just left the Villa Alicia today, after a 2 night stay. It is in a great location. A 10 to 15 minute walk to the city center and a little longer to the beach but in a quiet street. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I'd highly recommend it!

Villa Alicia is situated in an area that is convenient for the centre of Malaga and for the longer and more strenuous walk up to the Castillo de Gibralfaro. It is an older building which has a variety of rooms. We chose one of the en-suite rooms with a terrace. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean as was the...

I could echo word for word the comments of Jane A who sums up the character of this guest house villa so very well. 'Quirky' is a word that defines this wonderful place. Colourfully and imaginatively eclectic, it is unique in a very special way. Basic but charmingly different and decorated in a an artistically abstract way- this elderly villa...

Villa Alicia combines the economy and facilities of a student hostel - not too expensive, communal area, shared kitchen - with the amenities of a hotel in a lovely old villa in a suburb of Malaga. The rooms have tiled floors and high ceilings and basic furnishings but are spotlessly clean. The reception area has a large mural of characters...

We had a room with shared bath on the second floor. This is as another reviewer mentioned a pretty casually run spot, meaning reception is one person who might or might not be around (but is helpful when there). Shared facilities on our floor were a WC with sink and another 3-piece bath with two shower stalls -- both smallish...

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Alicia. We had Room 11 which has a small terrace which was worth the extra money - we paid 70 Euros. The scent of jasmine on the terrace was delightful. Breakfast was good for 5 Euros. However the place is run very casually. When we arrived our room had not been cleaned, since it...

We wanted somewhere to stay for a short stay in Malaga that was convenient for the city but retained some Spanish character. We were not disappointed with Villa Alicia, the decoration was quirky and full of flair, the rooms comfortable and the location perfect for us, being just out of the main part of the city but close enough for...

10 minutes walk from the city centre, but in a quiet residential area of Victorian villas. If you realise that the high trip advisor scores relate to it being a modesty priced gues house (and not a hotel) you will not be disappointed.

Arrived at the Villa late at night..but thanks to the excellent and clear instructions from Eva we managed to gain access to the property and our room with no problem. The property is in a quiet street but only 10/15 minutes walk from the city centre. The villa was thoughtfully and sympathetically decorated..clean and our room comfortable..plenty of hot water in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Alicia Guest House is located in a quiet area of Malaga city, within walking distance from its historical centre. The building itself is a good example of what once were the typical houses of the high bourgeoisie of the city in the early 1900s.When converting the house to a hostel, we have tried to maintain its original charm and style respecting its old features as much as possible: great wooden windows, high ceilings, spectacular geometric tiled floors, etc. ... more   less
