This hotel is very centrally located for the city of Zwickau. Rooms are modern, bright, well-furnished and a good size. Our room overlooked the partly pedestrianised Kornmarkt which meant it was relatively quiet. The breakfast buffet provides a reasonable warm choice and also a good cold, fruit and pastry selection. Parking in the hotel’s section of a municipal car park was convenient. Service throughout was pleasant and helpful. We happily recommend this hotel.
Decent hotel in the centre of the town (in December a great location to visit Xmas market). Room not so cosy but modern and clean. Breakfast buffet a bit empty half an hour before finish. Did not use the restaurant as it seemed too posh for the normal family dinner
Stayed 1 night service couldn’t be better, great restaurant nice food, English menu, staff spoke great English and were very helpful. Room was modern and fresh with A/C nice in summer. Bathroom clean and quiet large. Wi-fi good, Will stay here again
As a Guest from Poland, I felt great. From my previous experience, the best hotel in Germany in which I was. I would recommend! Clean rooms, perfect breakfast with genious tea!!!! Perfect localisation, Perfect room with good air condition. In te center but quietly.
Gday All Formerly the Holiday Inn and now First Inn I’ve stayed here twice and it has always been exactly what I have needed. Good reliable service good bed and room and within the city. Staff have always been great Cheers All Robbee
Only chose this hotel as a convenient stop off driving from Poland to the UK. At first we had a few problems e.g. Bed not made up, couldn't make the lifts work, and what marked our stay out is that the front desk staff were cheery Andy immediate in sorting anything out. When I wanted a bottle of wine opened, they happily not only gave me a cork screw, but also said the bottle felt a bit warm and gave me an ice bucket too. Have come to expect some German hotel staff to be a bit severe, but this lot were really cheery.
Wonderful property very well managed, congratulations to the General Manager and her team. The superior room i stayed in for three nights was modern, impeccably clean.... with the exception of breakfast which i feel needs great improvement, the bar and restaurant had excellent food and great service. Congratulations to local, and talented chef Ronny Gensow, his asparagus seasonal menu is outstanding, his wine recommendation of a 2014 WeiBurgunder Cru Select was perfect. I have not stayed at a Holiday Inn before but look forward to coming back to this property again soon. Apart from the breakfast there is one more problem, hardly anyone speaks English! Communication is tough and this is a pity.
Hotel was clean and reasonable. Best of all, great location for exploring the sites of Zwickau. Walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. When we visited the weather was cold and rainy, but the bar also had nice outside patio area available. Wi-Fi at the hotel was not up to good business standard, but was working.
G'day I don't why but .... I did not expect so much! I needed a room in Zwickau for a couple of nights and had recalled walking past this hotel a few days earlier. I booked online and registered easily. The winter had truly begun in Zwickau and so entering the large heated foyer was a blessing. Staff were excellent. Room was fully appointed. Great bathroom with additional heater. .ie clothes warmer/drying. Stocked bar fridge. Great setup for connecting and powering phones laptop etc. TV with free movies channels. WIFI throughout. Central Zwickau centre. Only negative I have is that as a tourist it's just like home, but sometimes that's just what you need. Highly recommended Cheers Robbee
My husband and I decided to go away for a few days during the winter season. Our check in went very quickly without any problems. My gold card status was recognised and we were happy to get an upgrade to an executive room. The lobby was bright and nicely furnished with plenty of seating and tables. At the entrance to the stairway was a statue which looked like marble. There was a choice of two lifts to go upstairs. The corridor had coloured swirly rings on the carpet. Very colourful and cheerful. The room was bright and airy. One wall was almost all windows which made the room even brighter. There was a shelf where we could place two suitcases quite comfortably. The wardrobe had plenty of space and enough hangers for our clothes. There were shelves where we could place folded clothes and other items. An iron and iron board were available for our use. A safe would easily take a 15” laptop and/or a camera. There was a kettle and tea making equipment. These were on a sliding shelf above the mini bar and below a blue lit cupboard which held glasses. We did not get much in the way of replenishment for the tea or sugar but we had brought tea and milk ourselves. A desk to the right of the unit was large enough to work on and the flat screen TV above worked well and was viewable from the bed or the comfortable chair with footstool nearby. The movable table was useful. The large bathroom contained bathrobes and slippers. We did not use the bathrobes but it was nice to have them in case we did require them. There was a bath and shower both of which worked well. The shower was powerful and hot. We loved the heat lamp in the bathroom. There were plenty of toiletries which were replaced when required. We were glad of the large bath towels. Hand towels and bath towels were only replaced when we put them in the bath thus saving energy. The hair dryer was attached to the wall but was powerful and adequate. Both the guest room and the bathroom were spotless. There was no fault to be found with the cleanliness of the rooms. The furniture appeared to be new and undamaged. I later understood that this may have been one of the executive rooms which had been recently refurbished. We were very impressed with the comfort of the bed. The pillows could have been a little firmer but no real complaint. We could open the window at night for air and it was quiet in the courtyard so that with the lovely bed and quietness we got a good night's sleep. We did not use the air conditioning but the heating was efficient. Our only complaint was the WiFi. Neither of us had quick connections. We were only looking at Facebook, emails and news online but it was very slow indeed. The other WiFi complaint was having to log in every time we shut down. Our passwords were never remembered. The location of the hotel was very good. We took a taxi from the main rail station as the trams were not direct. Restaurants were nearby the hotel. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but had a light snack in the nearby restaurants and mall. On evening we did have a meal in the bar restaurant. We had good service and good food. The décor was impressive with the sunken bar. We had a drink in the bar on our first evening. We liked the atmosphere. All the staff were very friendly and acknowledged us when we entered and left the hotel. Our check out was again efficient. We asked for a taxi and one came a few minutes later. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.…
