This is my second Motel One and I did not think it was possible to have a room more spartan or smaller than in Berlin Mitte..but I was wrong. As a single I have 1 towel, 1 set of pillows, 1 duvet, no washcloth (none in Berlin either). There are no nightstand, just a shelf that you would use for stacking clothes if you unpack. 3 hangers. When you book, they ask if you are single or double. This is why. My companion is with her husband and paid more for a double. Higher floor and 2 of each. On the flip side, it is in a great location. I had to close the window because of the church bells and street noises. You have a lively bar and breakfast while very expensive at $13.50 is great. You could skip it and walk up the block to several bakeries. Avoid a car if possible. The lot is extremely tight. $15 per day. So while cheap and clean, the other costs add up. You have the bare minimum but with great common areas. If you do have a car, turn left into an open lot…before you get to the street that is the motel one parking garage. Same price, but easier to manage.

I have stayed at over 20 different Motel 1 properties through out Europe and am a member of the Motel 1 loyalty club. I always book the same room, "the One", and always get the same thing, a standard double room. However, this Motel 1 restricts all of their solo travelers to one of the lower floors, and removes half of the amenities from the room. That's right, they removed half of the pillows, half of the towels, one of the comforters. They even took half of the toilet paper, leaving only one roll. Disgraceful! This discrimination against solo travelers is intolerable and I will think twice before booking at a Motel 1 property again.

Well what can I say. This hotel went above and beyond to ensure I was ok during my 14day quarantine in Germany. Checked in on me every other day, brought my breakfast to the door, ensured I had everything I needed. They gave me a bigger room due to the length of my stay. Luckily I got a nice window view of the Nikolaikirche Church. The WiFi was superb and free, perfect for watching netflix and social media. If you want a takeaway delivered to your room, you can. If you want a Amazon parcel delivered to your room you can, just make sure you let reception know. During your stay, if you have anything that needs kept in the fridge, again speak with reception. All I can say is a big thanks to the Motel One Leipzig-Nikolaikirche Team and thank you for making me feel like im at home.

This is a clean, modern hotel in the center of Leipzig that has everything you really need. The beds and showers are great! Yes the room is small but you will only be there to sleep. There are no frills like room service or air conditioning but you are getting such a great rate that who cares? If you want luxury stay somewhere more expensive. It is hard to get to in a car so use gps! There are a lot of access points that are just for bikers and pedestrians. Leipzig is awesome! Enjoy.

The room was comfortable and clean, however there is no iron or kettle. The rooms have a good amount of light and windows that open, but the church nearby has bells ringing in the night, at least at 2am! This may disturb some people. I mentioned I am vegan and the breakfast options included 2 vegan spreads, bread, soy milk, fruit and cereals. Overall, would recommend staying here again.

This hotel is situated in the middle of the old town next to Nicolai church where the peaceful révolution started. Unfortunately the church bells ring all night through every hour on the hour. So better keep the windows closed. Or have a good night beer at the hotel bar. Rooms are small but very clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is good and worth the extra price. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Although centrally situated this is far from the best Motel One I've stayed in: its rooms are very small with little room to put your luggage and there are no tables next to the bed; the wifi also dropped out frequently. The worst problem I has however was parking in a small parking area next to the hotel which is not marked clearly at all. When I returned to my car a member of staff really angrily told me to move my car. There was parked where another had been the previous day and it was not blocking anything. In any case the staff member should have asked me politely to move it, there was no need whatsoever to be aggressive towards a customer.

Having been home-based at this Motel One on a previous trip with a tour guide, my husband and I chose to return when celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The staff had worked with me months earlier to book the reservation, and welcomed us with an upper floor room facing the Nikolaikirche, and surprised us further with a complimentary drink in the hotel lounge. All of our exploring during our five-night stay was on foot, by tram or by train and this hotel proved a perfect location, whether shopping, heading to/from an RB Leipzig soccer match, checking out the university area, visiting local landmarks, or catching a train. As with other Motel Ones, the breakfast room can be overcrowded, but the staff had no problem with us bringing our food and drinks into the lobby lounge area. We look forward to visiting again!

Great value and great location. Rooms are small But tidy and heck if your visiting a place you just need a place to sleep. A nice bar that’s cheaper than anything nearby and your right in the middle of the old part of town. You’re literally on the middle of where you want to be with easy access to the train station and local transportation - I’ll be staying at Motel 1 in the future again.
