The Premier Inn Düsseldorf City Friedrichstadt hotel garners praise for its stellar location, within easy reach of both the main train station and city attractions. Guests appreciate the cleanliness of the well-maintained rooms, although a few have noted less frequent cleaning. While the amenities, including a satisfying breakfast, are generally well-received, opinions on service quality are mixed, with commendations for the breakfast staff contrasting with complaints about reception.
Room comfort is acknowledged, but some guests have encountered maintenance and service issues. The hotel is considered a good value overall, despite occasional additional costs.

Those of you familiar with UK Premier Inns will find the hotel and room layout familiar. Same comfortable mattresses as the UK, decent value, a good breakfast for a reasonable price, the usual things. We stayed for 4 nights in a family room which was larger than the usual UK equivalent. It overlooked a busy train track however there was adequate glazing blocking out the noise of trains and parakeets. The room was spotless and was cleaned mid-stay upon our request. Electricity in rooms and lift access requires the room key to be inserted, so I recommend requesting an additional key in case one of your party has to leave the room. Breakfast team were very attentive and maintained good availability of food. Breakfast at weekends seems to get busy from around 8.45am. Outside of breakfast, food options are limited but there are some good restaurants in the area. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for an unpleasant experience on departure when the duty manager insisted I needed to pay again for breakfasts which I had already paid for, and was somewhat assertive about the need to do this and would not listen to anything to the contrary (note that unlike the UK, there is no key-drop-off option). Following me escalating this via a phone call to the reception later in the day, the issue was resolved the next morning but the embarrassment of having to be told I was wrong in front of my party was disappointing, and I just got the usual 'we will learn from all feedback' copy-and-paste answer. A real shame as until then, the stay had been faultless.

A beautiful hotel, lovely rooms very clean with all amenities. We stayed for two nights, close to all the interesting sights. We were on Room only, but I am sure the meals also would been excellent, though the train station was close by we were not disturbed by any noise, highly recommended

as my "regular" hotel in Dusseldorf was unusually expensive for my latest trip, I looked elsewhere and stumbled across the Premier Inn Friedrichstadt and was pleasantly surprised at just how good a hotel it is. If you are used to the Premier Inn hotel chain in the UK you know that you can expect a decent modern clean hotel. The german operation seems as good if not better - the Friedrichstadt hotel is very well located very close to the main Dusseldorf railway station but quiet and just far away enough . As well as easy access to trains and U bahn in the station there is also a tram stop right outside the hotel. Check in/out was professional, the lobby is nice and welcoming, the rooms as expected are spacious, modern and well equipped. Breakfast is available in a nice dining room in the lobby, parking is easy next door for 20 EUR for a full 24 hours. Even dedicated parking space for Premier Inn guests. Well worth it. Overall a great stay and I will definitely go back to this hotel. Recommended

Only stayed here for one night before the start of the Euros. The hotel was great and the price was very reasonable. Room was really comfortable with everything you need in a great location next to train station.

We stayed here for 2 nights during a family holiday. The hotel location is perfect, just very short walk from the train station, and there is a tram stop literary just in front of the hotel. There is also bolt/lime parking right in front of the hotel for short trips.
The room conditions is very good with good air conditioning and insulation. We didn't notice noise from trains although we can see them from the window. Overall the room and hotel is very clean as well.
My daughter accidentally left her phone in the bedroom and we already left Germany by the time we realized it. It was great the hotel staff found the phone, and the reception helped to package the phone so it could be picked up by a courier to get back to us.

Can not understand the many bad reviews, everything was fine with me, is of course not a 5 star hotel, but with many advantages at a good price. A budget hotel perfectly located at the main train station with clean, modern rooms (19 m2. 6th floor), quiet (sometimes a tram rumbles by) with quiet air conditioning, which also worked. Breakfast for the price totally ok, everything there. Overall a very good price/performance ratio

I've stayed at many Premier Inns before and never complained. This one left me disappointed. Firstly, reception staff were efficient and delightful. The room is as I expected, clean, comfortable bed, good-sized, everything worked. Now the problems. There was no housekeeping for my entire 3 night stay. No replenishing of tea and coffee, etc, no emptying of bins, no change of towels. When I went to ask about getting a new towel, I noticed there was no phone in the room. I had to go to reception to get one. This wasn't an issue. I was given one immediately. However, to me, this is a serious health and safety problem. If a person falls over or is sick, they need to be able to contact reception urgently. Guests don't always have access to a mobile phone. Finally, there is an issue with the electrical outlets near the bed. For some reason, you can't plug anything into them (photo attached). They seem to have been blocked. There is a USB port, which is half useful, but there needs to be more. It's a shame their management are cutting back on basic services (staff) because Premier Inn used to be so much better. Hopefully, they'll realise their mistake.

Dear AlbyOneGG Dear [Guest's Name], Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Regarding the absence of a telephone in your room, we would like to clarify that in all Premier Inn hotels across Germany, there are no telephones in the rooms. This is part of our strategy to maintain attractive room rates for our guests. By focusing only on the essential amenities, we are able to offer a competitive price. We list all items included in the room on our website, so you can always check what to expect ahead of time. As for the issue of housekeeping, we want to explain that the savings from the reduced cleaning service are donated to "Children for a Better World," a charity we support. However, if you would prefer a daily cleaning service during your stay, we would be happy to accommodate that. Please just let us know, and we will arrange it for you. Regarding the security system in the room, we would like to reassure you that there are security modules installed in every room. If you need assistance, simply activate the module, and our reception will be promptly notified to offer support. Lastly, we apologize for the issue with the power outlet by the bed. We have already had our technician repair it, and we regret any inconvenience this caused. Once again, we appreciate your feedback, and we are committed to improving our services to ensure a more enjoyable experience for all of our guests. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Premier Inn Hotel

We recently stayed 7 nights at the Premier Inn Düsseldorf City Friedrichstadt hotel. It was great value for money and we really enjoyed our stay. Lovely new and clean hotel located conveniently a couple hundred metres away from the main train station. (There is a Lidl across the road from the station and an Edeka within the station if you are in need of groceries. Plenty of places to grab a quick bite in and around the station too.) We had a room that overlooked the train tracks. Trains were constantly coming and going (which was fun to watch) however the room is well insulated so it was very quiet. We slept very well each night. We ended up in a room with a double and single bed so there wasn’t a lot of extra floor space (for suitcases etc.) but it was fine short term. The room could do with a few more places to store or hang items however this is really the only downside we found. The room had a kettle and tea and coffee etc. which was handy. Heating and cooling is controlled centrally, not individually in each room. We found the temperature to be suitable our whole stay though. Free Wifi worked well! Breakfast was buffet style and cost 13.50 Euros per adult per day. On offer were items including different breads, cold cuts and cheese slices, yogurt, fruit, eggs, baked beans, cereal, juice and tea and coffee. Plentiful and set out in a lovely dining area. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Checkout was 12 noon. We had a late train out of the city however we were able to store our luggage at the hotel after checkout. Very handy. We are looking forward to staying at this hotel again.

-Personnel complaining to customers about internal processes -We were there with 5 people, all air conditioners without function, room change, so we were not the only ones -Cleaning lady vacuums dust during breakfast (annoyingly loud) -The rooms were cleaned 2 times in 10 days (but it will certainly be donated, but advertising was everywhere) -The bar was constantly unoccupied, there was a sign there, our dreamlike team is currently on its way -Compensation a mini chocolate on which the sticker did not come off (expiry date 12/2024) -no closet in the room, so live out of the suitcases

Easy access to the main train station as well as the bus and tram stops. The old town of Dusseldorf with 260 bars and historical sites is a 25 min walk away. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke multiple languages. My room overlooked the train station tracks, but you could not hear anything as the rooms are well insulated. The rooms are clean and have air conditional that can be changed. Towels and a hairdryer are provided as standard. The breakfast has a continental and hot option and offers bacon, sausages, eggs, a variety of breads, cheeses and cold meats, along with cereal and yoghurt. There is a bar with some food options as well. There is enough for everyone. There is a Lidl supermarket within a 5 minute walk of the hotel if yo you need anything else, along with a plethora of cafes and restuarants. I travelled on my own and felt completely safe, which is important for me. I wil be returning in the future.
