We had a good experience at this venue - nice quiet room, decent breakfast, helpful staff. The location is excellent for touring this lovely city, and there is parking available in an adjacent lot for a small fee. The reason this isn't a five-star review is that...my socks were not knocked off, which is my criteria. Our room on the ground floor looked out at a wall, and there is no on-site bar or restaurant. That being said, breakfast is included and the price point is reasonable.
We stayed eight days at Fründt's in October 2017, & fully enjoyed the whole time; I can't say enough nice things about this hotel & its employees. From the gracious welcome to the sweet "Auf Wiedersehen", the week was a delight. Our room was always spotlessly clean with the best down-&-feather duvet I've slept under (the perfect weight & thickness, in my mind, with no discernible feather quills), & I've been sleeping under them since 1971 (!!). The breakfast buffet was gorgeous, with varying offerings of beautiful cheeses (aged, runny, bleu, sliced...a smörgåsbord!) and cured meats, lox, warm Brötchen (my favorite had pepitas), jams, luscious butter, scrambled eggs & bacon, soft-boiled eggs, cereals, numerous juice offerings, fruit, breakfast salads, yogurts...& on & on & on. The adorable lady who ran the breakfasts even noticed I drank tea, so made a suggestion to try the apple one (she was right; it was yummy). I bought too much (is that possible???) Polish pottery in Bolesławiec, so had to ship most of it. When I needed a large box, one of the Fründt's managers emptied out supplies in the storeroom so I could have the box!! THAT'S service! I also loved knowing that I had a safe, well-lit parking spot waiting for me on the days that we drove out to see the regions' many amazing sights. Oh! Fründt's is also right downtown, a 2-3 minute walk (max) to the town square, with every type of business you could wish for along the route. Next time we visit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (soon, I hope - it's a sorely under-represented state in most guidebooks, I found), there is no doubt in our mind; we will stay at Fründt's Hotel Wismar.…
Nice, comfortable hotel, very well located in old town, between train station and main city square. Modern, clean rooms and bathrooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. Great value. I strongly recommend it.
Stayed in this hotel during my period working at the Nordic yard. Very nice hotel, spacious rooms, nice bathroom, good beds. The dining room is also used for weddings which might cause some noise in your room, nothing i found too disturbing. Another small "problem" is the fact the reception closes at 20:00 - 20:30. If there is really a problem you need solving straight away you can always call the lady and she will come back to help you out. The village is small and personnel is living nearby so i did not found it too much of a problem. Really enjoyed my time at Frundts
We stayed here 3 nights and were satisfied but...it could be better. First, the location is excellent. The room was comfortable but the bed was a bit too hard and the street noise a little loud. The breakfast was good but could have been a little more interesting and the service looked very frantic. There was often no one at the front desk in the evening so anyone could enter the hotel. The cost was ok but not a real value. Parking was right behind the hotel and reasonably priced. It wasn't a bad experience but we would not return.
The hotel is a short walk from the station, within the beautiful old quarter. We had a double room on the second floor (there is a lift). It was large and recently renovated with double aspect windows. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast is very generous with a typical continental style buffet - fruit, cold meat, cheeses, scrambled eggs etc. Only let down was the coffee - try Avocado cafe nearby for a delicious cappucino.
I didn't pay big money to stay at Frundts Hotel and expected an average room and facilities. I was so surprised to find the standard of this hotel is far better than my expectations, in fact bordering on luxurious. The bedroom was huge with large very comfortable bed, table with two chairs and a writing desk in the room with beautiful modern furnishings and drapery. Plenty of lighting and big windows with a nice outlook. The bathroom was spectacular. Beautifully tiled, nice modern vanity and wash basin, good toweling and all the accessories. The shower was out of this world. I've never experienced a shower with heads that shower not only from the top, but all the way down the sides of the body at the same time. The public areas and corridors and the reception area were all so spacious. The breakfast room, not cramped with well set out furniture, large windows and a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Also a great breakfast with numerous choices. There is a comfortable outdoor furnished decking that can be used by guests at any time. The hotel is ideally situated in the old part of town, 5 minutes walk from the railway station and only 3 or 4 minutes to Wismar's fabulous town square. The staff are marvellous. I arrived early in the morning and they made sure my room was prepared first. They also assisted me in so many other ways whilst I was there. This hotel was the best value for money with the friendliest staff I experienced on the whole of my holiday.…
We have booked for one night but stayed for two as we liked it so much. Newly restaured hotel, nicely decorated clean rooms, spacious bathroom with wellness shower. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Excellent location, quiet street with easy walking distance from the city center, nice cafes nearby. Parking place behind the hotel. For evening meal go to Kaminstube, which is just around the corner. This hotel is excellent value for your money !!
This very spacious and one and half year old hotel is located between train staion and central historical area (3 minutes from Train station, 3 minutes from old historical area). It is very clean and mordern and quiet. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and attentive. We paid 60 euro for double room with double bed and delicious breakfast buffett. It is located next to Nikolai Church. It has big terrace and outdoor cafe. I would say this is best value hotel I ever stayed in Europe. I strongly recomend to everybody.
