Unbelievable, they are using communication data upon a reservation to send out newsletters. Phoning them up... They find it "normal"... Not easy to talk to them. The new owner has given that order and now... I still hope they can change this behaviour
Room was too hot and no AC, and church outside rings very loud and traffic was a bit of an issue for me. Not the hotel's fault, but some air conditioning or better ventilation would improve things. Otherwise, nice location, clean and nice rooms and decent enough service.
The only good thing is the location just beside the railway station and the city centre. That's about it. Staff is friendly (most of them). The whole place is worn down and needs a major renovation. The breakfast is a total desaster for a 4 star hotel. I have no clue how they ever got this ranking. Quality of the rooms, breakfast and service seem not to have mattered.
I stayed two nights in this hotel in August. The hotel is centrally located and is beside the Hauptbahnhof and Nordsee shopping centre. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom in my room was recently renovated. Each room is equipped with a tablet for internet access which was useful. The buffet breakfast was excellent and offered many choices. There is also reasonably good food available in the evenings in the hotel bar. The hotel seems to very well run and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel with a central location and with its own restaurant and bar, so good for the business traveller. The room appeared nice, clean and quiet. The menu card was also available in English, but I was served a flounder instead of the cod I ordered! However, the flounder was excellent :-) The restaurant also appeared to be popular with the locals. There's only a few free parking lots in front of the hotel but a parking house is located only 5 min. walk away.
Hotel is clean, staff is very friendly and they speak in English. Breakfest is really big and a lot of choices. Parking is little bit to small (only on the street near hotel, when is christmas is really hard to park a car) Rooms are clean and big with TV and water.
Have stayed here before on business. Nice rooms, free WiFi. Staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Good breakfast by German standards. Excellent shopping Mall right nearby. I look forward to staying here again.
We hard room 114 en 116. The rooms were very clean and spaceous. Maybe a little bit outdated but certainly not too old fashioned. The beds were good. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel they want you to have a nice stay and help with everything you need. Breakfast was excellent. Maybe the best thing is the location. You are in the middel of the city and have nice bars and restaurants at walking distance. Wifi was available and good but a little bit crappy in the rooms (114 and 116) we had. Parking was nice and not expensive. All in all, I can recommend this hotel if you just want a good hotel for a fair price.
excellent eating , vrey good reception. rooms very clean and functional. the more expensive rooms are better. nice drinks in the room central to the city but quiet to sleep recommend it for a budget with more comfort
We weren't expecting to stay in town, as we were on a cycling holiday, but the weather turned bad and we walked in on spec. hoping to find a room. We were not dissappoined. At a very reasonable rate, we were given a large double room with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom, free water and juice; in addition, a voucher for a free drink each in the bar - beer or prosecco. The hotel is slightly dated, but very cosy, free hot drinks, sweets and apples in the reception area and most importantly, friendly, helpful staff; also, very clean and tidy. We ate in the restaurant, had a superb meal, served by an equally helpful waitress. The only thing we noticed in our room was the lack of any air conditioning, not something we usually care about, but our room was very warm, even with the window open all night. The hotel is centrally located, opposite the railway station which is within a shopping centre and a 10 - 15 minute walk from the naval museums and harbour. I can certainly recommend this place and will be staying there again on our travels next year. Check out the arts centre down the road, where they have live music & exhibitions.…
