The room was spotless, breakfast very good, staff v friendly. The lift necessary but a little stale. Hotel was in a brilliant spot...v near to Romer square with lots to see and great shoppin street 5 mins walk away.
We stayed there for a few days in the summer .. No problem checking in , yes there is a small elevator but to be expected in these old buildings, it was no problem always worked fine. The room was a little dated but clean and to me thats the main thing..bathroom and bed linen was clean , the room wasn't big but it was fine for us as really all we wanted it for was to shower and sleep , then out most of the day.. The main problem was there was no air conditioner, didn't realise that most places in Frankfurt had no air ..even the shop staff were outside every chance they get, it was quite hot when we stayed there , the other thing was the curtains , although were block-out they did not cover the window well and we had to tape the ends to the wall to stop the sun from coming in as we had the afternoon sun facing our room and only had a small fan in the room..that made it uncomfortable..needless to say we spent most of the time outdoors.. The continental breakfast is great , dining room very modern and clean and always breakfast is well stocked. It is in the best location, very close to Romer square and with many shops and restaurants all within walking distance, the river is also very close by ..Hauptwachehe station is also an easy walk away. I would certainly stay there again if in Frankfurt you cannot get a better location for the price....…
Surprised at how varied the experiences were by other guests who have written reviews. Fortunately, we had nothing but a good experience. As others have noted this is right in the heart of the Weinacht Markt (x-mas markets). It is an older, simple hotel, but if your traveling as a tourist for the holidays, you're not going to be spending hours on end in your hotel room. The staff were all very friendly, the breakfast and afternoon cake service were a very nice touch, and the room was just what we needed.
Checked-in to this place and were informed we were to stay in an apartment across the street. Attendant commented he hoped the elevator would be working. On arrival to the apartment, the washer/drier was out of order. The bedding (open duvets) and mattresses had fluid stains that were present for sometime as mentioned in other reviews. The attendant declined our request to cancel our stay and provide a full refund. We were put on the phone with the owner as mentioned in other reviews. We were offered a partial refund later by email that was unsatisfactory. The writer contacted the booking agency involved who advocated on our behalf and the entire amount was refunded in two days.
If you want to go to the Christmas Market from the end of Nov, this is the place to stay. The location is perfect. It is close to the subway, shops, restaurants etc. The reception staff were all very helpful, kind and spoke good English. My room was on the 5th floor, small but big enough to open the suitcase. It was facing the back office building so it was quiet as well. The elevator is really small, but thank God we have a lift. This is typical, traditional European style. They even offer free afternoon "home made" cake with coffee. That is a nice gesture.
