The Kaisershof Mercure is situated in the rather rough Bahnhofsviertel near Frankfurt Main Station, but as soon as you walk through the door all that is forgotten: friendly staff, quiet and functional rooms, a good bar, a wonderful breakfast.
Nice hotel not far away from the main train station, indeed district a bit dodgy but very practical. Modern design, safe, and well furbished rooms. Hotel is fine ofr a short stay with connection to trains. Metro station and tramway are very near as well.
A good place to stay for business people like us. Need a restaurant and place to eat. I think this one is right in city and also close to railway station. However, there are dark areas close by and it is difficult to walk alone in the night
Location is 3 mins walk from the main train station which is very convenient. The downside of the location is the area is filthy and crowded, and though I personally did not face any inconvenience, walking the street did seem a bit scary. Room and bathroom was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Room is soundproof and had a mini fridge and kettle. Lots of eating options around the hotel. I arrived early and the lady at the reception was extremely kind enough to let me check-in immediately. Appreciate this kind gesture.
The hotel itself is nice, rooms are spacious and clean and reception area nice. However, the area the hotel is in, only a few minutes from the main station isn’t nice at all. This must be the area where all the drunks and druggies stay as there were so many openly taking drugs and passed out on the pavement outside the hotel. I know this isn’t the hotels fault, but would put me off staying again.
Good location. But this is arguably the worst Accor hotel I have ever stayed in. When I entered the lobby and said hello to the reception staffs, not one of her two responded to me but were looking down at the computer screen. I was so shocked that I went up to them and waved to them before they realised I was checking in. Even so, the attitude of the reception staffs were indifferent throughout the check-in process. Also, for a 4 star hotel, the bar was surprisingly unmanned, all self service and lacked prompt cleaning.
The hotel is good and comfortable, the breakfast selection is good too. However when checking in, I was not recognized as Platinum member, but mainly I was not explained anything about the hotel that I was visiting for the first time (where's the lift, where can I have breakfast...). At check out, I am asked to pay for the city tax in cash (2 euros) which is absurd nowadays, and I was even given 2 separate invoices, for the room and for the city tax. When I asked where was breakfast I was told that was on the second floor, which is annoying, to return there with the luggage and all when I could have gone directly while leaving the room which was indeed on the 2nd floor. Th signs for breakfast are small and located just below those for some meeting rooms, therefore not very visible. I didn't find workers being very friendly or understanding…
We had an average Mercure experience here. Early check-in, room upgrade, use of the executive loungeand a minibar were not available, even if we had Platinum status. Besides that the staff was friendly and helpful, our room was comfortable and you can perfectly explore the city from here. There also are plenty of restaurants and bars around.
Excellent Hotel and very good location for Business Travellers. It is less than a 5 minutes walk from the Frankfurt Main station (HBF). The staff are very nice and helpful and I had a very good stay. I would certainly stay in this hotel if I visit Frankfurt for Business.
The hotel is a short walk from the main train station but you have to walk past an area where homeless and addicts gather that could be off putting for some but we didn't encounter an problems. It's a business hotel that is clean and friendly. Small reception area and a small self service honesty bar upstairs but no one seemed to use it in the time we were there. Breakfast was good with good choice of continental range including gluten free bread. Price was very good for a city centre hotel. All in all very adequate for a short stay in Frankfurt
