We stayed here 2 weeks ago for 2 nights before heading to Baden Baden and a Uniworld river cruise, and it was great! We had booked in 2019 for a June 2020 trip and had to postpone to 2021 and finally got to go in 2022. They graciously kept our reservations and welcomed us warmly. The service was great from bringing ice promptly to excellent breakfasts with a wide variety of choices. Everyone was most helpful. The location is excellent--close to many sights and the river. We returned today on our way home and were greeted with "welcome back!"
I stayed in a "deluxe" room in the summer. Although the room was iffy for a five star, with discolorations on the walls and a broken frig that required four visits to deal with, the real problem was the air conditioning. The hotel uses an antiquated system that barely introduces any cold air into the room, even at full power. I ran the system on full power for two days and it was barely able to reduce the temperature in the room by a few degrees. Aesthetic shortcomings are a minor annoyance but do not interfere with sleep; bad air conditioning does. The hotel could have upgraded its antiquated system to a modern air conditioning system, but chooses not to do so, despite charging 200 to 300 euros per night.
Excellent hotel, great location with very professional kind and helpful staff. The hotel is extremely clean and all staff from the people welcoming you at the entrance, the receptionist, restaurant staff as well as the house keeping where great. Hope to be back soon
The room itself (deluxe suite) was probably one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. Very spacious, great closet and huge bathroom with an amazing shower. We were only there for one night but the staff and breakfast were incredible. However I agree with other reviews that the air conditioning is supremely lacking. It was not even a hot day but the room was very hot in the night and it was not a good sleep at all. If that gets fixed than this hotel is an absolute 5/5
My husband staid in the hotel for 4 nights for a conference and I joined him for the last night. The hotel is very grand, old fashioned in a good way. The room was spacious and the the bathroom was comfortable with 2 sinks. breakfast was excellent. The only thing that did not meet the standard of this hotel was the house keeping. The room was made in the late hours of the afternoon at best .This should not happen in a hotel of this caliber and pricing.
The room was very nice, but the air conditioning is totally lacking. The engineer for the hotel who came to check it out said that is does not work well, period. Consistently had issues when calling down to reception. The phone would ring and ring and no one would pick up. Didn't matter the hour of the day. Breakfast buffet had plentiful food, but not top quality.
The hotel is in good area, close to critical Zeil Street, and you can walk around on several beautiful places nearby. Opposite the center is a walkway and restaurants. Starbucks opposite the hotel. It is approximately 1 km away from the Jumeirah Hotel (Marriott) and MyZeil mall. It is approximately a kilometer from the main train station. It is located in the center of Frankfurt. And the car stops at the door and they take it to the parking lot . For a small fee per day, 40 Euro per day. We did not try the breakfast. Breakfast is 35 Euro , but if you book in advance from the reception, it will be 25 Euro . The receptionists are excellent and fast. The rooms are excellent. I thank Mr. Ahmed (Egyptian ) for helping to carry the Luggage and guiding us to the nearest restaurant. We did not like ... The air conditioning was not cold, there are a lot issues and the sound of it on the first day and the maintenance staff talk is coming and they say the air conditioners are old and there is no solution after that, and they say the air conditioners are not suitable for the German weather and the sudden heat. The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. The room does not have a kettle for tea or coffee.…
The hotel room is very spacious and bed is very comfortable. You can also select your choice of preferred pillow. There is no kettle in the hotel room and i understand it will be provided upon request. Requested housekeeping for extra bottles of water and it was delivered to my room very quickly. Breakfast spread is considerably good.
The staff at this hotel were wonderfully pleasant, from our first interaction, to our last. The room was well decorated, and very clean. The location of this hotel to the train station is a convenient walk, but make sure you take a street that does not take you through the red light district (unless you’re inclined) :) The historic area of Romerberg, is a great part of Frankfurt to explore, and only a short walk from the hotel. Check out Restaurant Gaststätte Zum Storch while in the area.
I was very impressed by the Steigenberger. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite, the room was immaculate and spacious and the breakfast buffet was delicious. It is a five minute walk from the business district so highly convenient for business travellers. I will stay here again.
