So my wife and I went to Hamburg for a quick break after our wedding. We stayed at the Superbude as it wasweld priced and seemed to be in a good location. Firstly, yes, the location is brilliant. About 5-6 min walk from a subway station and really easy to navigate to. It is in the west part of the city centre and there are so many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants within 5 mins walk. It was perfect. It is also just outside 'proper' St Pauli so you can easily walk to there but then leave it behind if you want a bit of peace. The area seemed really safe and there was a great mix of people around. The room we had was really good, all the things you could want or need. Considering it is a hostel, it had better facilities than some hotels in Britain! Only issue with the room was that it might be a little noisy in the summer as we heard people in rooms near us or walking past. There are the usual hostel facilities in the reception area, so you can take your own food etc. There is a bar but it was quite pricey. There were also families staying at the hostel and it was a relaxed vibe. Not sure what it may be like in the summer though. Seemed chilled out though. Only issue was the reception staff were a little short with us. Not sure why but it wasn't the most welcoming when we arrived. But it isn't a big issue. Staff when we left were nice so maybe it was just a bad day. All in all, it was very good. I would definitely consider staying again if we visit Hamburg.

Thank you for your honest and valuable feedback as well as for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. Just a quick comment on the drinks, we mostly work with local brands so the Gins for example are of very hight quality, thus we are charging normal bar prices whereas beers and lemonades are definately cheaper than other places around. Im sorry to hear that you did not feel welcomed at first sight, I really hope and also believe that that person must have had a bad moment. If you would like to evaluate on that please write me an email to awolf@superbude.com. Thanks again and hope to see you again in the future! *SB & Alice

I was 3 nights in Superbude with my 12 years old daughter. And it was really a good price so before arriving I was not sure about the potential quality. It is an hostel .. ? Not at all - it is a real hotel with cool design and trust based approach. Room : clean, cool design and big. Common space : cool design, free “games”, free access to food and drinks and at the end you tell what you have been consuming (trust approach - I like it because it changes completely the relation and give a feeling of home. Location : good, lot of restaurants and bars around. Bus stop in front of the hotel. And if you don’t want to eat outside, you can come with your food. Always relax atmosphere in the common area. My daughter was even asking to stay instead of going outside. Again I recommend definitely this super hotel with extremely cool concept - hipster spirit.

If I could score more than 5 I would. Absolutely everything about this place is magnificent. The staff could not make you feel more comfortable, were efficient and friendly and knowledgeable too, an absolute delight. The amenities are second to none, the rooms extremely comfortable and the whole trusting feeling of the place just makes it feel like a home away from home. Thank you for an excellent stay. We will definitely be back.

My wife an I needed a last minute room for a night and this place was close to where we needed to be. Was a little leery as it has hostel in the name and we are 50-somethings, but we were absolutely delighted by this place. The decor is clever in every detail and makes you feel happy. The common areas are so welcoming and I saw families playing games together. The staff are really nice and made us feel at home immediately. WiFi is strong. And the cost is really great. You should stay here

We stayed at Superbude for 4 nights. The location is great, it's just a couple of steps away from Schanzenviertel which offers a lot of bars and restaurants and a train and subway stations is only about 5 minutes away. Our room was a bit dark but it was spacious and we really liked the design of it! Also a big plus was the "Nintendo 64" which was connected to our TV. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hostel offers drinks, snacks and board games in the lobby area what was a nice touch too. We will definitely come here again!
