Pros: large room, comfortable bed, AC as well as heating, good breakfast Cons: inconvenient location, a bit noisier than I´d like (my room was facing the main road), daily cleaning could have been better.

If you drive a car to the hotel, and use google maps, DO NOT type in the hotel as destination. it will insist on you entering the hotel from a permanently closed driveway, and you will end up being forced out on the highway every time, not being able to enter the hotel grounds. We found a workaround for this, by targeting the backyard entrance. First, target Ballin Park (a park closeby), then from ballin park to penny (shop next door to hotel). This allows us entrance from the backside, and you can reach the frontyard parking space from there. In other comments, during our stay there, much of the outside area in veddel (area of hotel) stank of some unknown smell, but we did not notice it inside, and there was Air Conditioning, so no window need be open. We had a room away from the highway, so it was quiet and good. The hotel in itself was generally good, all though i would not feel safe walking between the train and the hotel in the dark. In another note, k do not recommend taking the train to the main trainstation in hamburg. the area had a LOT of drug addicts, drunkards and beggars. find another station as your destination if that gets you closer to where you want to go. Also, while the hotel was clean, it is also very outdated. it looks like it has not been updated since the 70s or 80s, except for the addition of usb charging ports in the room, and flatscreen tv.

Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Last year the main direction of the street was changed and many of GPS Systems doesn't have the new streets updated. After having a long discussion with the Hamburg authorities we are happy to tell you that we will receive some direction signs to the Hotel. Our rooms are renovated last year completly and our bathrooms will be the next step this year. Unfortunately we can't do with the outsight of the building or the surounding but we can say that this area of the Hotel is save and we never had any problems at all. Kind regards from Hamburg

Stayed in this hotel while waiting to join a ship in Hamburg. Away from city centre , about 10 min Taxi ride at about Euro 17. Limited menu at the restaurant but food was well prepared and served. Friendly and courteous staff. Rooms on the East side are noisy due to passing traffic next to the hotel.

We loved our large clean comfortable room as well as the tastefully decorated bar/lounge/breakfast area. (Except perhaps for the footballs...) The only real disadvantage of the hotel was its position on the wrong side of the River. When we first arrived we got out at the wrong train station “Elbbrücken“ which we thought from its name that it should be near our Hotel then we had a mamouth walk with our suitcases over the Elbbrücken bridge with our suitcases and eventually arrived totally exhausted. Other times we used the nearest train station which was still 15 minutes walk from the hotel. If you come with a car no problem. Speaking of cars the hotel is quite noisy as it is near the motorway...

The staff was very pleasant....but arriving on the 2nd day of Christmas was tough. There is hardly anything in the area, but what was there, was all closed. Luckily, the hotel restaurant opened for dinner. Food was really good....unhappy about being charged 4.50 euro for a glass of water (not even the bottle). If you are looking for a place to relax and rest, it is perfect. Cab ride is around 15-20 euros to the center. The supermarket was convenient being next door. Buy your water there!! 2.30 for a small bottle in the machine. Overall, it was clean, quiet and staff was extremely nice.
