Berlin is a great city with lots to see and do..so its important to have a "base" where you can crash at, leave your valuables, get some sleep and recharge your batteries after a long day exploring. This hotel was perfecf for that. An easy 10 or 15 min walk from the central train station and 5 mins to the... More

Large rooms with extra bed. Clean and comfortable. Good price / quality. For leisure ok. Business stay I would not recommend. Location is not really in the middle of the nightlife. Breakfast is ok nothing special. Apartment building 4 stories without elevator.

Rooms are very spacious and clean, and the location is OK BUT: - staff are not always helpful and friendly - breakfast is sad - adding a bed for a 6-months baby costs too much, particularly if one considers the bed is given withough matress!

This hotel is a 15 min walk from Berlin Hauptbanhof central station, a 5 min walk from the Naturkundemuseum subway station and some 15 min walk from Oranienburger Straße. The room was clean and had a rather large bathroom in my opinion. The bed was comfy and room temperature was ok as was the hot shower. The price was €... More

Hotel is in a strange location. When we booked, the site said it was near "Checkpoint Charlie." This is definitely NOT the case. We were about a 25 minute walk to restaurants and shopping. The bahn is a short distance, though. About 5 or 6 minutes. The clerk at check-in wasn't very friendly. She wasn't unfriendly, just more aloof. She... More

We´ve been in that hotel for 2 nights. It´s quite central and cheap: 59,- (internet price) for two (!!) per night. THIS is really cheap, as it is not a dirty back packer or a youth hostel. They promise on their page, besides a TV, also a safe and sunlight impermeable curtains. Well, the room was clean. But the safe... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
