In a chaotic big city like Berlin, a centrally located comfortable place as hotel Aquino is is a rare find. The service and amenities may be minimum, but they meet a sightseeing tourist’s basic needs: convenience to attractions, restaurants and transportation. They don’t cater to luxury seekers. But I found the cleanliness, the accessibility, and the well-prepared breakfast buffet a good value if you spend most of your vacation day out and about in town, when you return at night, you would like a place like that
Very friendly and helpful staff, all my extra needs were met! Quite and nice place to stay with family. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great location. Very smart price for this place. Lift didn't work during my stay, this may be a problem for families with infants.
...as part of a conference place for the German Bishops Conference. We stayed there and had our parents placed there when our apartement was too busy. There is also a big big garage under the whole complex, which is a bit of a secret as its super centrally located and parking there allows for lots of excursion options.
A bit far from downtown but good value for money. Takes a 45 minutes walk from Berlin central station passing many of the hot spots and sightseeing highlights. Quite, clean place with bicycle rental. Property and business belong to christian Catholics and is a seminar venue. Did not book breakfast so no review of this.
We visited Hotel Aquino and stayed for 4 nights in Berlin. The hotel is a great location with only a 5-10 minute walk from the central train station and plenty of nearby restaurants. The beds were super comfy and the small balcony allowed us to open the door and get a proper breeze when it was hot outside. We loved that there was a fridge and popped to Lidl about a 5 minute walk again to get some breakfast bits and picnic pieces for Potsdam. Everything in the room was clean and the shower was excellent! The only thing I would note is that the hospital is just around the corner which we didn't realise. This didn't bother us, but if you are a light sleeper and looking for a daytime nap, the sirens for ambulances are very frequent - though the hotel itself was quiet..
We went to Berlin for the marathon and stayed here for two nights. Spotless, efficient staff and a really pleasant room and shower. The tram stops on the main road m5 into Alexanderplatz and from here you can get anywhere. The beds are a little hard. We didn't have the breakfast at 12€ it's a bit steep although another couple said that there was plenty of choice. Mini bar and water in your room but no tea/coffee making facilities. I would definitely stay here again. Reasonable price and good facilities for a city hotel.
The hotel is part of the compound called Catholic academy. Location is central and near eating and shopping areas yet the hotel itself is quiet and relaxing. Around a kilometer away from the historical sites (Branderburg, Checkpoint Charlie), I would highly recommend this place especially for those who do not need a hotel bar. There are lots of them within a few meters anyway.
Or is it the other way around? Either way the hotel has a great central location and is walkable from Berlin Hauptbahnhof. The rooms are good 3 star quality, spacious and clean. Ok this place dosnt have a bar but there are plenty within 5 mins walking. It might be a bit different but what does that matter?
Simple hotel and nothing fancy but good for business trip. The room was big and clean. Location is good with a lot of eateries nearby, and bus and subway stations are walkable. Conveniences like drug stores and supermarkets are also close by.
Excellent option in Mitte. The location is great, near the subway. The rooms are big and clean. Price is good, breakfast has many options. Staff was polite and very helpful. The only thing I disliked were the pillows, it was necessary to sleep with two to have some comfort.
