We have stayed here for the last 4 nights. The breakfast is great, a traditional hearty German meal. Lots of good quality meats, breads, cheeses and eggs. Could use some more fresh fruit. Rooms are comfortable and daily maid service is efficient. Close to subway and bus system too. Will study here again on next trip to Berlin.
We stayed for 6 nights at the hotel, the building was historic with wooden stairs and old elevator. These maked this stay as a fun. It must be said that reception attendants were warm and supportive. Breakfast was generous and the saloon was memorable. The rooms were clean. Hotel location was close to metro station. The hotel was not well equipped for air conditioning in hot seasons.even a simple fan may help but it was not foreseen. Also the hotel was close to cross road which caused noisy nights with opened windows. All together it was a good hotel and memorable stay.
Great choice for breakfast with nice interiors of an old building. U-Bahn stations are in the proximity of the hotel. The transport links from there are not as great though as you need to transfer a lot, so you might be better off taking the trains from Charlottenburg, which is around 12 min walk. Good value for money. Room was oddly shaped and the elevator is difficult to operate.
We booked two nights here, and the hotel overall was good. The food they serve for breakfast is very good, the rooms are nice and clean, my only thing is sharing a bathroom with everyone. There is only one bathroom on the floor where your room is located, which you share with the rest of the people in other rooms. At times you could hear the toliet/people even inside your room. Overall though, the room was great, just would be nice to have your own toilet in your room. We did know this going into booking the room. The location of the hotel is a little bit on the outside of Berlin, uber will be your friend if you stay here! The hotel staff were very friendly, and helped us out alot too, our room was not ready when we got in (4 or 5 hours early) so they stored our bags. When leaving we were leaving before any one was there so they had us use the lock box and we could "check out" essentially before hand so we wouldn't have to wait for someone to be there. They were very friendly, nice and helpful!…
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while we were exploring Berlin. It is an older hotel that has older things but it is very suitable for a couple days stay! You have to share a toilet with others on your floor, but you get your own shower and sink in your fairly sizable room for Europe standards and the price. There is a continental breakfast in the morning with the usual suspects. Pastries, bread, meats, cheeses, etc. You are about 15 to 20 minutes car ride from the downtown Berlin sights and it is about an hour walk through the nicer part of town with tons of expensive shopping options(Gucci, Prada, etc.) There is also tons of great food options for lunch and dinner around the hotel and we were able to find some authentic German food 5 mins walk away with reasonable prices and big portions. …
The travel from the airport was quite painless. We bought a one week transit pass that was very handy given the hotel location. This ticket included the transit from the airport. We took the X109 bus from Tegel to Andenaurplatz U Bahn station. You do not have to take the train. Then we walked down the side street about 4 blocks to the hotel. I rarely post negative reviews. However, we encountered several issues throughout the stay that would prevent me from recommending this property. Day 1 The elevator was not working upon our arrival. The young male front desk clerk suggested "It might be working tomorrow". Our room was on the 4th floor. Luckily, we do not have mobility issues. There should have been a sign posted on the elevator door with an apology and an expected date for return to operation. The Internet, in our room, was spotty at best. When I asked the young male front desk clerk when it might be working again he said, "Wait a few minutes". Hours later it was still not working in our room. The front desk closes at 9 pm. I asked the clerk what we were supposed to do should there be an issue or emergency. He said something like, "You can call the number on the card but it is unlikely anyone will answer." Day 2 Elevator still not working. Internet spotty. Young male front desk clerk disinterested. Toilet paper not replenished. Not certain bathroom or room were even cleaned. Day 3 Elevator was working. No toilet paper left again. Internet spotty. Day 4 Internet continued to be hit and miss. Garbage cans were emptied but towels not changed yet. There was a card posted in the washroom that stated towels would be changed after 3 days. If the card had not been there or it listed that towels would only be changed if left on the floor, we would have been fine with that. The sign was misleading and included incorrect information. Day 5 Internet and elevator working. Towels remain unchanged but one new hand towel left. Cleanliness in room a concern. …
Bus line 109 from Tegel to Adenauer platz, just 400 m walking to the hotel.Staff at the reception very helpful and very polite. Easy to find. Good connections to U bahn or S bahn. Good breakfast. Resonable prices. Quiet area.
Hotel Pension Margrit is definitely a place to come back to. You get great value for money. The hotel is located close to public transport (12 minutes to S+U Bahn Charlottenburg) and shops and within walking distance to Kurfurstendamm. The neigbourhood is quiet. My room was small, but the bed was very comfortable. I should also mention the friendly staff and yes, the fabulous lift! Like I said, I'd like to stay there again on my next visit to Berlin.
Have just spent 10 wonderful days in Berlin with my grandsons, and we found this little hotel perfect for us. Close to the u bahn and bars and cafes. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable. Quiet neighbourhood and it provided a fresh continental breakfast with plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again .
