I decided to rent this apartment based on the description on booking.com promising an apartment with proper kitchen facilities (oven, toaster, kettle etc...). I was visiting Berlin for several days on business and needed these facilities to save myself some cash during the stay. The "kitchen" consisted of a tiny little alcove with a fridge and a hotplate purchased from...

We loved this apartment, for it's location in an interesting area of the city right on the former divide between East and West with Bernaur Street just a short walk away as is the underground station taking you to Alexander Platz in just a few minutes, the apartment itself is spacious and immaculately clean

Really good location. Just 3 minutes walk from the underground. The price is just fine. Part of the wall is nearby and the area is calm. The apartment was clean and with nice view. The airport is 25 minutes away as well as the main area.

The apartment is not bad, actually very big and more or less clean. All towels looked old but clean. When we arrived we were taken to another apartment on Raabestrasse, which was in fact better, but still, they messed smth up. The kitchen was equipped, there was even a small yard with a fountain. The location is central, but next...

A ground floor apartment. Well heated in winter. Meanly furnished and not cleaned properly. The towels were old but freshly supplied but just couldn't be sure about the bed linen and that is an uncomfortable situation. The last guests had left their mark - in the toilet bowl, so that certainly hadn't been cleaned. Meanness and cheapness ran through the...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
