Just stayed here for three nights. Situated close to city centre so easy to get to museums and other popular tourist attractions. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a single room with ensuite which was spotless. Plenty of choices at breakfast. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Berlin on a budget.

I was staying from Monday to Friday in the Acama and found it quite pleasant. The location was good, the breakfast ample... and the service at the reception desk more than helpful. Especially the bald man was extremely competent and service-orientated. This all in consideration of the very low price. I have spent the rest of the week end in...

Good location, close to train and rooms are basic, rather small. No problem with the hotel itself and the guests were quiet. WIFI was a huge issue for us, wouldnt work at all in our rooms and the staff would not assist at all. For international travellers, this is vital.

I had awful two nights of bad sleep there, the doors are heavy and loud, even if you try to make it quiet. I had the bad luck of having 5 siblings as neighbours and the bathroom and the parents were out of their room, so there was a slammed door every five minutes ALL NIGHT LONG

The rooms are ok, clean, big and spacious and quiet, with a TV, comfortable bed, safe, private bathroom, WIFI does not work in the room, only in the lobby. Staff are helpful and friendly. After 10 o'clock in the evening you can go to central courtyard. :(

I stayed in a single, it was clean, centrally located, with enough restaurants around. It's in a fairly touristy area, so it felt safe, there were always people around regardless of time of night. For the price, it definitely lived up to expectations. Breakfast was simple, but good.

this hotel and hostel is no hotel by definition, simply a youth hostel. It is very basic, beds, bathroom/toilet a table, TV and a few shelves. The major advantage is that it's very clean and a few meters walk from the metro. It by no means suitable for families with kids, who need a kitchen or familie rooms. If you...

The Acama Hotel/Hostel was easy to find and their service via the phone with directions was really good. The room was very clean, well proportioned, warm and easy to access. The service from all of the attendants was really good, especially giving directions to us as international travellers. The only issue we had was that we were situated in a...

Great location in walking distance to city centre (Checkpoint Charlie, Unter der Linden, Potsdamer Platz etc). Not so pleasant staff at reception. Clean room and good breakfast, no hairdryer. Near to metro stations.

Located conveniently near the U-Bahn and S-Bahn, access to the major historic sites in the city center is quick and easy - and walkable as well. The hotel was excellent on all levels. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was superb and diverse, the staff friendly and helpful, with lots of information available on Berlin. This was also...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
