Roman and Michael were super hospitable hosts. This boutique hotel is well located just off Kurfunstendamn shopping road. It's easily accessible by S9 Bahn train from the airport. Savignyplatz station is just a short walk away. Likewise walking to and around Tiergarten if you enjoy fresh air and greenery. Many restaurants nearby. Room and ensuite bath room is clean, quiet with quaint wall painting. Daily breakfast is fresh, good quality and ample. There is a little balcony where you could just sip your own wine - alfresco. Hope you both like the Sociando Mallet. Will be back with wifey - when she can travel. CHEErs.
We stayed at this hotel for five nights during a family trip to Berlin. We found it by chance on the web, but we could not have found a better place to stay. It is a boutique accommodation. The reception is not open 24 hours, but Roman stayed late to welcome us. He invited us to refreshements while checking in. He also gave us some excellent recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area. The rooms were recently renovated and very comfortable. A main characteristic is that the rooms, and the hotel in general, were nicely decorated, with original surreal paintings on the walls and frames. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It included coffee and wide choice of teas and juice, fruit, cereal, yogourt, fresh bread, etc. The location is superb, near Savigny Platz and Uhlandstrasse, an area full of shops, art galleries, restaurants of all types and life! It is also very well connected by S-bahn and U-bahn to all parts of Berlin. It is also directly connected to the airport by the S9 line. In summary, this is a charming, convenient and fantastic place to stay. We highly recommend it and we will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Berlin.…
This hotel is located in a residential area. The location is close to the train station and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The family that runs the hotel is friendly and attentive. The breakfast options are plentiful and the dining room is bright and inviting with a terrace over looking the street. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean.
Stayed four nights at Hommage a Magritte and it made for a perfect visit to Berlin. The Savignyplatz neighborhood has a diverse range of restaurants and cafes, and every one we tried was excellent. The hotel is a short block from the main east-west S-bahn lines and the subway at the KuDamm is no furhter. The rooms at the hotel all have a nicely executed Magritte theme,. Ours was a good-sized double with a modern bath. Several rooms have balconies looking out on the courtyard. We did have the breakfast at the hotel, again, well put together and prepared. We used the breakfast area balcony overlooking the street to relax after a day tromping around.
It's our third stay at Hommage. Place is still impeccably kept and full of charm. Location is great - just off of Kudamm, yet very quiet. Family running it is very helpful with tips for activities while in Berlin. Sumptuous breakfast included. Good value for money.
We loved staying here and would do so again next time in Berlin. We were made to feel very welcome and our hosts Aurelia and Roman were thoughtful and accommodating. The hotel itself is small and arty - very clean and comfortable and with a lovely breakfast. Could not have asked for better.
My wife and I stayed at this boutique hotel for three days on a sight-seeing trip to Berlin. We arrived in the morning and asked if we could keep our bags at the hotel. Not only did they let us check in early (but not charge us anything extra) they even gave us breakfast! The hotel is on the west side of Berlin, but is a short walk to the Metro station from which it is easy to get anywhere in the city. There are lots of good restaurants a short walk from the hotel. The room was very nice as was the breakfast buffet. The Hommage a Magritte worked out perfectly for us and we would stay here again if in Berlin.
Over two years ago, my wife and I stayed at his hotel and enjoyed it very much. This year we had planned to return and bring our daughter. We corresponded with Roman and his family over a dozen times, changing dates and asking for advice. Each time they replied the same day, and provided useful advice on the best time to stay with them and to give us information about parking. The tone of their email was always courteous, cheerful and encouraging. We have stayed at hundreds of hotels and B and B's over the course of nearly 60 years of travel but we have never had a better experience in corresponding with a proprietor. We highly recommend this property for its excellent location, service and buffet food. Please note we had to add a travel date so we put down the date we began corresponding with Roman.…
Not surprised this is rated so highly. Right from the first communication, the hotel had been very helpful in organizing our visit and on arrival Michael took time out to explain the details of how to access the hotel. Quaint & peaceful room through a maze of corridors with wonderful artwork hanging on the walls. Breakfast was standard fare and location is very close to numerous restaurants and of course the shopping streets of Ku'dam. We will stay here again if we revisit Berlin again! P.S. - Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews for this recommendation.
We've traveled far and wide over the years and stayed in everything from dives to opulent luxury, but never anywhere quite like this. It's certainly quirky but we loved it. The location was perfect for us. It's a lovely part of town, just a very short stroll from Kurfürstendamm and the U-bahn. Berlin has several centres but this hotel made a great base. The €7 a day transport pass opens up the whole city anyway. Check-in was interesting and the owner has a sense of humour as unique as his hotel. Great to check-in, form fill and chat over a coffee. Thee hotel itself is small but packed with character and charm. Our room was furthest away but the walk enlivened by numerous pieces of art and benefiting from complete quiet. To be so close to one of Berlin's busiest areas yet completely quiet was great - a real haven after busy days and nights out. There are many comments on the site about the rooms - yes it was compact, yes the shower was a bit impractical, and yes there wasn't much hanging space (we only traveled with cabin baggage) but the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We thought breakfast was perfect for us. Lots of coffee, cereals, lovely breads and rolls, cheeses, salami, salmon, boiled eggs etc. and delicious croissants. It really set us up for the day. There aren't drinks facilities in the rooms but they are available all day in dining room/lounge. Returning from a day out for a coffee and biscuit on the balcony was better than a Nescafe in the room any day. So in summary: great location, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, fab breakfast and unique in style. We'd always prefer this to a chain and thought the room rate was fair and reasonable. The owner clearly takes great pride in the hotel and the fact it is family run (when I asked for the code to the room safe I thought I'd caused great offense). We'd have no hesitation in recommending to others.…
