We have visited Berlin a dozen times but one of Our best hotel experiences. We received a splendid welcome and were given a spacious 4th floor room with a balcony. The balcony was a big plus since Berlin had temperatures around 30 for our three-day...More
The hotel is really really old. The elevator which was made in 1966 was out of order one night. They fixed it before the morning though. The furnitures are old, too. However, the location is perfect. If you do not minf spending time at the...More
Stayed for one night on business.Old and used room and furniture. Sofa was smelly so I did not sit on it. Aircon leaked water and I had to put the trash cans underneath so that the water would not ruin the carpet (would not do...More
We stayed here for a long weekend.
Great location - close to the shops, some museums, restaurants and bars, and the U-bahn (underground train) and loads of buses.

Staff were very friendly but my room was very dated. I paid the extra to get a 'superior' room which gave me a bit of extra space including a small sofa and coffee table. I wouldn't say that it's worth getting the superior room.

Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop
down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
Hi, I'm not sure if the direction makes a significant difference, but I recently (June 16) caught a taxi from the Mercure Chateau Hotel to the Tegel Airport and it cost €23. It's only about 20mins or so.
