wasn't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a room in the older building as opposed to the modern part. The decor was super, the room spacious and the sound insulation great. We never heard the other visitors and although we played music in our room late into the evening we never had any complaints from our...

The night I arrived, May 28, was unusually cold, windy and wet, and the woman at the reception matched that mood. Abrupt and almost rude. Not a good first impression and I was glad never to have seen her again in our 4 night stay. Otherwise, the reception staff was quite friendly and helpful. As for the the hotel itself:...

This hotel had been recommended in a travel book written by a trusted author. The location is convenient to transportation and great restaurants. Our room was very spacious, overlooking a quiet street. The breakfast area and selection of food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

The location is good, the rooms are clean and comfortable and very quiet, and the breakfast is good. But I was here for business, and despite the promise of WiFi access on their web page, I was only able to use the internet between 2am and 3am. I was told that the WiFi was broken, and it stayed broken all...

We just stayed at Hotel Carmer 16 in Berlin this week, July 7, 2013. We really enjoyed the location in the Savigny Platz neighborhood. This is a small hotel with a with a very personal feel. The staff and especially the reception desk staff were excellent, each of them went out of their way to assist our group with all...

This is a comfortable but small hotel located in the heart of the Savignyplatz/Charlottenburg area. I was traveling alone but I asked for a double room. The single rooms are very very small and for the price (80-100 euros) per night ridiculous. One of the really annoying things about some hotels is how they don't tell you in their websites...

Have stayed at this hotel many times, it is in an excellent area, easy to get around Berlin, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a bit pricey, there are so many wonderful cafes around, try them instead,

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the last ten years on my business trips to Berlin. While the hotel rooms vary in size and comfort, generally I have stayed in spacious rooms with high ceilings, overlooking the tree-lined Carmerstrasse. With breakfast, the nightly costs are approximately EUR 90.00, which may vary when a large fair is...

Wow, I have been in hotels with thin walls but this takes the cake. I could literally hear what kind and how many wheels my neighbours suitcases had. The high ceilings are not well insolated so the tip toeing neighbours upstairs do not escape your attention either. The tiny TV is not very helpful being across the room. You have...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
