Spent 4 nights here at the end of November and will definitely return one day. There were 3 of us in the room and we had ample space, beds very comfortable, room very quiet, bathroom and rain shower superb. Loved the tapas bar, it was all decorated for Christmas and as it was so cold outside it was really cosy...

This hotel is well located in the heart of Berlin, close to all the attractions and the room is functional and clean. We were very impressed with the standard of the room for the price we paid. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone travelling to Berlin the future. As someone mentioned Wi Fi was expensive but there is...

We were checked in by a lovely young lady, who spoke perfect English. She allocated us a room with a view of the River Spree (which we were not expecting), gave us a map and pin-pointed a few restaurants in the local area. She also advised us of the MAS rewards program but didn't try to sell it to us....

This is a great hotel, by the river and a few metres from the U Bahn and the S Bahn. Staff were very friendly and professional. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable with a choice of pillows. The only problem we had was with accessing British TV programmes, The staff were helpful though. It...

I was very happy with this hotel when I arriving. The location could not be better as its within spitting distance of a main train station. The appearance was spacious clean and modern. The rooms were a very good size for a standard with a massive bed. The breakfast was varied and of a high standard. The only this that...

Fantastic location, excellent receptionists, good sized modern room. Very happy with our stay. Downsides were (1) room was too hot/stuffy, we could not turn down the heating enough (though we do like our rooms cooler than most) and although we mentioned it to the staff and maintenance had apparently looked at it they made little difference. Strangely our sons in...

We booked this hotel through TA after reading the reviews and it met all our expectations. We would definitely stay here if we were to return to Berlin as the location, service and price cannot be beaten. Location: Conveniently located just 50 metres outside Friedrichstrasse Station which is a central station and made getting to places a lot easier. It...

We've chosen this hotel booking it directly on internet mainly because of its central position in Berlin and we accepted to take part to the affiliation program. We paid something extra for "The Level" room 744, but it was well worth of. Many benefits offered, a perfect service, skilled and gentle staff, quality room, food and extras. Personal attention to...

This hotel is great. On one of the main streets in downtown Berlin between the museum island and the Brandenburg gate. Stayed here over Christmas 2012. Staff were excellent. The standard rooms were a good size for a city centre hotel. The bar was good and was popular as it was also a tapas restaurant. It was necessary to open...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
