Had a fantastic stay at hotel Johann. The beds are big and comfortable and the room was really large with high ceilings. The bathroom’s look like they’d been recently done (upgraded from the photos on here) and were lovely and modern, the shower especially was huge and the water pressure the best I’ve had in Europe. Room was really clean and there’s a small fridge in the room which was handy. Also a good location, felt quite residential and quiet but a short walk to lots of cafes and restaurants, and a ten minute walk to the ubahn where all the sights are only a short journey away. Only thing I’d change is that rather than a double duvet there are two single duvets, which I think is standard in Germany but not the comfiest. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. Staff are all lovely and very helpful, would really recommend staying here…
A great hotel with lovely rooms and accommodations. Husband was in for business so we turned our visit into a family vacation with his parents. This was my in laws first ever international trip. The host made sure everyone was comfortable and was always helpful to my in laws. Highly recommend. When my husband and I return for business/pleasure we will certainly stay here again. Hotel location is centralized to several train and bus lines to make all your site seeing with ease.
I have been coming to this hotel since 2010 and keep coming back ! In a world where everything changes and changes not always for the best , Hotel Johan remains the same and in doing so keeps its standards as high as ever . The rooms are STILL light and spacious and tastefully furnished , the location is STILL charming and quiet , breakfast is STILL luxurious and long , the bicycles are STILL for rent , the carspace is STILL available . Never mind corona , never mind the precautions . And last but not least the staff is STILL the same , STILL enthusiastic and effortlessly maintaining that exquisite balance between familiarity and distance . I do love Berlin it is true , but Hotel Johan gives the city this little extra : the feeling that although you are abroad , you have a place you call home . …
Love this hotel. Meets all my needs, and super friendly. Always look forward to going back. A fine place in Kreuzberg. Have now stayed there three times and happily recommend it to others who like smaller, friendlier places.
Friendly, clean, safe, great neighborhood. If I ever go back to Berlin I will certainly consider staying here again. I have not reason not to. The service was great! They have a breakfast and provide a free bottle of sparkling water in your room. There's even a cool hotel bar which I did not utilize on this visit however nice option to have.
Perfect place with nice breakfast (unfortunately not many vegan options but good for vegetarians) and absolutely quiet room. If you dont need too much space to feel comfy its a good place to stay a few minutes away from the center of Kreuzberg. Friendly staff and nothing to complain.
The hotel is not central to downtown Berlin but is located in a trendy suburb close to public transport. The hotel is very modern and boutique in that it is very personalable with very friendly and informed staff. The rooms are clean, modern and trendy and the bed very very comfortable. Some reviews say the rooms are small but for a place to sleep each night and to shower - it is just fine. If you want to spend your whole day in the room, yes it will be small but for being a base to sleep, shower and leave your luggage it is just fine. The breakfast was nice (cost = 11 EUR). The bus is just a 2-3 minute walk and the subway (Ubahn) about 10 min walk - I travelled with my bags from the airport on the subway and walked to the airport - it was just fine. Overall, I would highly reccommend this quaint hotel in the suburbs of Berlin - I loved my stay here very much.…
My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Johann for a week with our eight-week old baby, and found the service outstanding. The staff were warm, friendly, patient with our baby's needs, and helpful beyond our expectations. They arranged taxis with infant carseats for us, and helped me navigate the local healthcare system when I developed an infection and needed emergency medical care. The hotel itself is small, clean, and tastefully-decorated, and the leafy courtyard is lovely. Would stay again next time we're in Berlin.
I visited Hotel Johann for the third time this month and continue to love it. This is a small, quiet hotel in a residential neighborhood of Kreuzberg. It is simple, clean and easy to navigate, but also has everything a traveler might want - good breakfast, nice bar, and easy walking to restaurants, cafes and public transportation. Highly recommended.
Really liked room, staff, breakfast. Recommend highly but don't expect luxury. Trying to sumit review and requires minimum 200 characters which i don't recommend . So i have to keep writing to fill space.
