It is true what they say “ you get what you pay for”. It is a budget motel and you do need to read carefully what you are paying for. I certainly wasn’t expecting to share a bathroom. The elevator sometimes works. It says no smoking but smoke could be smelt throughout our floor. It was clean and the breakfast good.
This Hotel was perfect for me and suited the needs of group I was travelling with. Area is quiet, seems to be a traveller/commuter belt with shops, pharmacies, eateries closing by 8pm each evening. Hotel is located 5min walk to "main square" in area and 5min walk to metro line. Where metros are every 2/3 mins and a full day multi use ticket is €7. Hotel I did not book and was part of group travelling but it suited us and our needs perfectly. It was cheap, clean, centrally located, hot water and fresh bed linen and towels daily. Staff I found friendly and were happy to help with any questions we had. The shared bathrooms on each floor(2 showers/2 toilets) I found unusual but wasn't put out by it-it was always kept clean with hot water at any time of day I didn't use the breakfast facility, but agree with others a kettle/tea facility would be useful in room. Close by is Komps on main street serving coffee/pastrys or Cafe AM. Food/drink/clothing in Berlin is standard European prices. With cosmetics 1/3 of the price. Hotel suitable for:- Couples Groups Solo travel Hotel unsuitable for:- Small children (alot of stairs) Elderly(alot if stairs) Disabled(hotel I would not regard as being wheelchair or disability suitable) Light sleepers(walls/windows) quiet thin As I said with majority of my reviews, don't book any hotel and expect 5 star accommodation. This hotel does not claim to be the Hilton and if you want 5 star treatment, stay in a 5 star Hotel. This is a well run family(guessing) hotel, perfectly located and a great price. …
The location is excellent, at walking distance from Zoo railway station, but quiet at night. Please note that this is a PENSION (shared toilets and bath in the corridor) rather than a hotel (with a toilet and bath in your room). The room was clean though, and there was a sink, although the cold water tap was out of order, so I had to fetch drinking water from the shared bathroom. A problem was the non-operating elevator. But breakfast was fine, and the staff nice enough, so I would say that I got what I paid for.
I spent there eleven days. Only two n a half days, the elevetor works... my room was in the 7 floor, n only two days before I leave the hotel, they ofered me to live to the second floor. The wifi wass just good if you are not near the Windows, cause there, you had no internet...the rest. A normal room, normal hotel...
A well located hotel for site-seeing. Inexpensive, but very basic. The room was about 220 sq ft including the bathroom It was clean but with no extras other than soap dispenser and towels. No iron, tea/coffee facilities, no tissues, no safe, no full length mirror. The lighting was very poor in the room and the passageways. I needed to use the light from my phone to see the keyhole to get into my room. Very basic TV programmes; on the upside Free WiFi. Staff OK, but disinterested. My room was noisy from about 6:30 am with some building or maintenance work in the street, but this was probably a one-off issue, and closing the windows reduced it to an acceptable level.. Hotel OK if you accept very basic accommodation.
you get what you pay for excellent location 5 minute walk to city centre ,all good travel & shopping access very quiet & a good base point but ,tea, coffee maker in the room would have been really good as no facility on site ie vending machine nice enough staff ( except 1 ) who is clearly in the wrong industry overall enjoyable trip & would probably stay here again it was clean but a little basic
Beds very comfortable friendly staff and great transport links. Wifi poor connection issues. Bathroom was a shared one with my room however there was a mens and womens and was easy to get into. No kettles or drinks in room however can buy bottled drink down at reception. Place let down by a poor breakfast tho. Small meat selection breads pastry coffees juices and Ceareal yoghurt. No fruits or teas.
If you want to stay for work-purposes: this hotel is focussing on tourists. No wifi in the room. Place is worn-down. Single room is too expensive for the quality you would expect for a 3-star hotel. Location is good; next to U-bahn and close to S-bahn stations. I did not make use of their breakfast.
Terrible hotel, more a hostel, too expensive due to standard! Should be at least half the price! And I am not so fussy when it comes to low standard! However the pillows wherent really a pillow it was a pillowcase filled with a blanket! No toilet in room! Staff looked like they where close to the end! Totally not intrested in their guests!
First of all, please aware - this lodge is half hotel - half youth hostel. Popular for graduation classes that come to Berlin. Hence it can be extreme noisy. By the other side there is only wifi in the lobby area, the whole area is connected by amplifiers, located at the stairway. Therefore forget about connecting to internet from your room. Moreover, I thing that the owners, or at least the management is Polish, very rude and impolite. Regretfully I stayed 2 nights in this hotel and warn to stay in here !!!
