We got an upgrade to an apartment with was not on te corridor of the hotel, but after the emergency exit in the regular hallway of the building. It was a very spacious, nice and historical apartment with high ceilings. But this is the only reason I gave 3 stars, because there are a lot of negative aspects regarding the service. First of all, the breakfast was bad. Second, one of the towels we received after the cleaning had a huge, gross stain on it. Third, the kitchen of the apartment smelled like someone smoked in it A LOT. All in all, I won't be staying here the next time I am in Berlin.

The Ku’damm area is pretty fancy but this little spot is not. As long as you’re not expecting fancy, you’re fine! It’s an old establishment in a nondescript building and the location is excellent. Public transport to everywhere; great italian restaurant nearby. Very good breakfast.

I was slightly confused on arrival as the hotel is only the top part of the building. In the dark how to get in wasn't obvious, but quick phone call solved that. Helpful staff and a decent room, though layout of floor was unusual. Breakfast was okay but could have done with a little more variety.

Good accommodation, clean rooms, lovely view from the windows, lovely windows themselves, convenient location very close to the underground stop. The hotel is on the third floor. There's a lift, but it's old so you need to be careful visit. The breakfast buffet is moderate but offers the basics.

Once you have managed to get through the front door (via a buzzer & reception activated lock), the small lift (max 4 person or 2 with luggage) takes you up to the third floor where you will find Reception. The check in was one of the worst I have experienced in many years of travel, and entry to hundreds of hotels. The four of us took it in turns to use the on-line check-in screen, complete with a touch pad mouse, some fields labelled only in German, and a QUERTZ keyboard. All of your details are required, and the receptionist finally prints it off for you to sign. You then need to sign a receipt for the free wi-fi that gives you the codes needed for access, which confirms that you will conform to German internet access rules - whatever that may mean?! The rooms are austere, but the bed was reasonably comfortable. Location was ok but rather far from the centre of the city, and an Uber cab failed to find us when called - he had to give up in the end! We went into the centre via cab, and it was approx €20 each way - the one returning late at night was the fastest cab any of us had ever been in; red light? What red light?! Breakfast was very basic, but ok. All in all, it felt a bit like going back to East Germany.

Hotel-Pension Kurfürst situated in the Bleibtreustrasse and very close to the Kurfürstendamm. Also very close to the bus stop. The airport bus #109 from Tegel airport stops right next to the hotel. So you can avoid expensive taxi rides or awkward walks. The staff at the hotel are happy and relaxed, open and easy to talk to. Sunday morning, breakfast is larger. Minus points because they have coffee airpots instead of coffee machine. Pricing comparatively? I do not know if they are expensive. I paid 241 euros for three nights in single room.

OK, this hotel is not exactly a Marriott but if you are looking for somewhere comfortable to stay in the centre of Berlin on a budget then this is perfect. The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent and the breakfast was simple but OK. . For the 60 euro that we paid for one night it was perfect. The staff are really friendly and we were able to check in really early. The hotel is in a perfect location and 10 minutes walk to the S bahn and a little less to the U bahn. Perhaps the only negative was that the WiFi isn't great. But this is a gem of a budget hotel.

The room was comfortable, very clean and the staff was very helpful. Their breakfasts were ok, nice variety, wished they had fresh fruit though...It is located in the K-dam area, and very close to the hop-on Hop-off stops.

This hotel was one of the only hotels with a last minute free room on fridaynight (we went to Berlin on a whim and had to book a room in the car from Holland) And we were really lucky! A little bit hard to find as it’s behind a small door, we had to buzz ourselves in and then found one of the eldest elevators/lifts in the whole of Germany. A tiny one, that claims it can carry 4 persons but it’s a squeeze to fit in with two! The reception is on the third floor in what looks like a big house or old flat with oldworldly charm. I love hotels like this! We checkend in and got a parking permit in exchange for a 50 euro deposit, so we could park on the street. Our room, 511, was a big one with windows looking out on the courtyard. We slept like babies, the beds were great and it was very quiet. The bathroom is quite small, your knees hit the wall if you sit on the toilet. But hey, you didn’t go to Berlin to sit there ;) The breakfast was great, one hot choice (sausage) and cooked egg, and breads, meats etc. The hotel doesn’t have a bar or lounge but does sell bottles of beer and soda for good prices. It’s on a nice street with some shops and restaurants and very near the Ku’damm! So if you like high end shopping (or windowshopping...) it’s the place to be! About ten minutes walk from U-bahn Savignyplatz. All in all: an oldworldly, kind of quirky hotel/pension with nice staff, on a great street. Not for the people who want fancy, need coffee/tea in their room or a hotelbar. I loved it!
