Positives - The apartment was lovely, well equipped, comfortable and a short team ride from the city. It was perfect for us as a family. We also ordered a baby cot which was provided with bedding. Negatives - Apartment almost impossible to find once there. Apart from the sign on the wall outside the building there was no prior communication...

The apartment is located in the nice Prenzlauer-Berg nighbourhood. Many restaurants and bars nearby. The tram is very close. The apartment itself was very clean when we arrived and it is well equiped. Mr. Mayer welcomed us very nicely.

Fabulous place to stay in Berlin. We are a family with two kids and stayed there for a week. Actually we had planned to stay for four nights but we were so happy there that we decided to stay a whole week since there was availability. The apartment is located in the Prenzlauer Berg area. This is a very nice...

We spent 10 days there in May 2014 and had a lovely time. The location is superb, being very near to the M2 tram's Marienburger Str stop, which is super convenient, taking one to Alexanderplatz, a major station for S+U Bahn services (also has a couple of malls there). Plenty of interesting and superb cafes/restaurants/bistros in the vicinity - we...

We just came back from a four day trip to Berlin with the kids. We stayed at Ambiente Apart which turned out to be the perfect acommodation. This is a self-catering apartment in an apartment building on the corner of Sredzkistrasse and Prenzlauer Allee. We arrived at 9 in the evening and were welcomed by Herr Meier, the janitor of...

This is a great apartment for couples visiting Berlin. We normally stay with friends in Prenzlauerberg, so we know the area well. Ambiente Apt is located just minutes from the cafes and shops, and is well connected for transport. The place was spotless and had everything you could need. I would highly recommend for any visitor to Berlin.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
