We stayed at the Indigo for 4 nights at the end of June for a Midsummer holiday. We were greeted with very lovely welcome and the reception person was kind enough to manage as a corner room on the 8th floor with amazing view to Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower. The room was also without the class wall in the... More

We had three nights in this very nice hotel and liked every minute of it. The location is great just in front of the Alex!. The style of our room was modern and big enough for two persons. And we were lucky by having a room with a balcony - what a view! We had wonderful evenings sitting with wine,... More

Arrived in the morning and were able to check in early, and even offered a welcome drink for being an IHG member! Hotel is clean and nice, and a short walk from Alexanderplatz with easy connections to the airport and train station.

We chose the Indigo over the standard Holiday Inn right next door, because it is more boutique in style, and it is a nice hotel, but I'd be interested to see the room size in the Holiday Inn, as our room was tiny - almost completely filled by the king sized bed and with very little in the way of... Pros: modern and stylish rooms with huge bathroom, very well located for exploring city (and for coming from tegel airport), friendly staff Cons: no baggage stand in room, our double bed was 2 singles pushed together with 2 single duvets and when we asked for a double duvet we were told that it wasn't possible as none/very limited numbers existed

Some hotels come with a price tag which demand glitz and glamour. Some are bargain buckets and look it. This, however, is a hotel which delivered heavily on value for money and yet provided a stay which reeked of quality. Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
