Be careful when staying at this hotel. The US government has an agreement with them to host their personnel. Those include Secretaries of state. German police at no notice to gusts decides to close the hotel and the whole block surrounding it and does not allow any guests in or out for hours. During my stay they rented the hotel to the US department of State to host Secretary Blinken and others. The worst of it is that they did not offer any compensation for the breach of contract.
I accessed the 10th Floor Executive Lounge to have breakfast at 09:25 on March 23 but could find nowhere to sit that was not filthy with plates and glasses from previous guests. I had to clean a space myself and wipe the food remains off the table surface. (Please see photo.) There were two staff with one working feverishly replacing food behind the bar and the other spent the entire time in deep discussion with two guests. There was no interest in cleaning tables and a total dereliction of duty. This makes me question the commitment of the Marriott management. A filthy experience which I would expect from this hotel chain. I just hope that somebody with responsibility reads this and sorts out the problems.
Very friendly nice people. Ceasar at check in is helpful and courteous, and Mia also is fantastic and was so knowledgeable and pleasant. The location is excellent and rooms are solid. I hope to be back soon
I want to thank the whole team @ the Marriott Berlin for making my stay special and being very kind but also providing amazing service. big thanks to the following employees: Zhivko Petrov Renee Rosengarten Sheena Brudy Morits And the rest of the staff for an amazing stay. Great house keeping as well.. amazing facilities. Keep up the great service (:
The service quite personal, the food in hotel bar yet again divine. As an elite member, the light fare dinner meal was delicious. A salad appetizer with shrimp and duck, the stroganoff, and dessert was sublime. I can not rave enough about this
Worst Marriott hotel we have ever stayed at. The staff did not recognize the loyalty membership. No greeting (verbally or by a card/letter) throughout our whole four nights stay as a lifetime platinum member. The room is unclean upon our check-in. For example Hairs on the sofa and bedsheets. Dirty stain on the carpet (even have chocolate!) and fingerprints of the glasses and faucet. Especially, super dirty kettle as attached. Housekeeping team messed up our slippers when it was been placed nicely before we left. No safe distancing practicing in the hotel and some of the staff did not wear the masks properly. On the day we checkout, we asked the front desk if they could give us one more hour late checkout but was been decisively rejected unless we are willing to pay €85. Been an elite member for almost 15 years, definitely won’t recommend this hotel.…
The location of this hotel is ideal for walking to nearby sites or for taking a quick cab. The lobby is beautiful, and nearby restaurants are quite good. However, parking is extremely difficult. Could not recommend this hotel for anyone traveling in their own vehicle. The very limited parking this hotel has was filled by mid-afternoon each day, and the desk staff recommended parking on the street several blocks away (that is, after they FINALLY provided us that option, as most responses were "it's not our fault."). Poor service. Front desk responses were snippy and often contradictory of previous staffs' responses. If you don't have a vehicle, and don't need to talk to anyone at the front desk, it's a great place.
Stayed here with my family during a short weekend trip to Berlin. The hotel was very nice and in a great location. The room was very clean and modern looking. We mainly picked the hotel based on the location. It was a short walk to just about everything
This hotel shattered our love for the brand. Service is poor. They are either understaffed or do not get the proper training. While not rude, staff was slow, did the minimum and were not willing to help We found their behavior patronizing and the hotel per se wasn’t cozy or well designed. Their room details are misleading. We booked a City View, Panoramic Room for our 20th wedding anniversary and they placed us in the 5th floor with a view to the building across the street. We were moved to the 8th floor (building has 10 floors) and we could barely see the city behind the building across the street. We called concierge from our room and they never picked up the phone. We gave up. Location is good but Berlin is a big city and transportation is great. Travellers can stay in better hotels in a different without the need of the overpriced and poor service of the Berlin Marriott Hotel. The only thing we really liked about this hotel was the lamp in the room.…
The hotel is very beautiful, I liked everything! The breakfasts were pleasantly surprised by the variety. The room was given a higher class, I was lucky :) The room was clean, full set. Lived 2 days, cleaned every day. It's good to live in a cool hotel!
