We had a room for 8 people, it was fine. The room was a little fusty (but probably because our 'roomies' did not like to have the window open..). Location is good and it is easy to travel to the city centre. Staff is very friendly! No elevator, so it is a walk every time upstairs, but good way to...

a very nice place to live in Berlin, quite cheap and conditions are good. The only problem was that receptionist didn't speak english. But despite this fact we spent a great time there. This place is very quiet and cozy

I really loved the atmosphere and the people there. Smiley and helpful staff, respectable visitors. A lot of space and many communal areas. The only drawback - slow internet transfer in some areas. You have to look for a perfect wifi spot.

arrived in Berlin by bus from Glasgow ( I know right???) and only 3 stops took me to Charlottenberg on the S-ban. You can actually see the hostel from the platform it is that close, so only a min walk across the road. reception is in the walk in dining/communal area and check in is strictly from 2pm. we arrived...

Hmm...well i should start with a few caveats: I would avoid this hostel if you have any heavy luggage. They do not have a lift. I was unfortunate enough to be given a room on the 4th floor. It was not fun carrying my suitcase all the way up there at the height of summer. Also, arriving at my room...

Arrived after a 5hr journey to have to wait 45 minutes before checking in. Then to be told that I need to find a cash point to pay the €50 for the key. After returning from the cash point I was second in line after another couple before a large group and more guests arrive waiting to collect their keys...

The hotel (or hostel) has a great location. If you arrive from Tegel Airport, Bus 109 takes you directly there. You can also reach the S-Bahn station (S-Charlottenburg) and the U7 metro line (Wilmersdorfer str.) through 1-2 min. walking. The place itself is very busy, many young tourists stay here for a few nights. I have stayed in a small...

We stayed for one night in a dorm room with bunk beds. There is a sink and a big table with chairs, there is a set of gym-style lockers but we did not use them. You get to dress up your sheets, one towel is provided. The shared bathrooms are not very great but not because they're dirty, it's just...

I arrived at 22:00hs and just when i got in the place smelled horrible. A black woman took 20 minutes to talk with me and check me in. She didn't take card, and gave me back my money in a big pack small coins. She didn't even apologize about the fact that she had no keys for my room, and...

We needed a simple hotel in Berlin for one night. Since we are students we don't have too much money and this hotel was really good. It was not directly in the city centre but the s-bahn went every 4th minute so it was good. The room was clean and big. The bed was also big. For a simple few...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
