We stayed here as a couple in Jan, we thought it might be a bit cold but turned out it was the opposite, lovely and cosy. Our other concern was possibly the showers / bathrooms but yet again they were probably one of the best showers I've ever used in absolutely pristine condition. If you are a bit of a...

This place would not suit everyone so if you're not interested in staying somewhere extremely quirky and eccentric near cool small bars with live music and artwork, you will absolutely hate this place. However if you are, you will find that as well as the atmosphere it is also clean and very well organised with friendly reception staff. Matthias checked...

Loved this place. You wouldn't normally pay as much for such a small accommodation space (not that it was over-priced at all), but it is not any ordinary hotel. The indoor camping feel is much more sociable and you get a completely different experience to staying in a hotel. The accommodation space, with all the different vintage vans, bits of...

Spent three nights in "Kleine Schwester" and it was just excellent. Really cozy, clean, unique and lots of fun details. Close enough to the U-bahn and a couple of really good restaurants (Myxa, Papilles). For those who are looking for something different, something where the owners have really put their heart into and something classy, this is it.

This hotel is funny for one night but no more: -The rooms which contain caravans are small which means that it is really noisy and you have absolutly no intimity. The price we paid (172 euros for 2 nights) is clearly overpriced: -The location of the hotel is not really good as quite it's far from the highlights of Kreuzberg....

Me and my friends stayed at the hotel last June and enjoyed every minute there. The staff was wonderful and helpful. I did not have the breakfast, but my friends complimented it. The caravans were all a bit different and cute. The bathrooms and toilets were neat and clean. I especially liked the garden, where you could sit and have...

We stayed in one of the private rooms at Huettenpalast and we couldn't have asked for more. The room was spacious and very very clean. It was comfortable, and the staff welcomed us in a friendly and helpful manner when we arrived. Huettenpalast is in a great location, and we were able to walk to the nearest station in a...

We stayed 4 nights in a hotel room here. Friends stayed in the caravan section. Much preferred the hotel rooms, But the caravans could be fun if you rented a few with friends. The room was basic, but large, spotless and stylish, with high ceilings and huge Windows. Lovely staff who went above and beyond. Conveniently located near subway and...

loved the creativity of this hostel. It was fun to come home each night into my cozy trailer, especially considering I visited in September when the weather was rainy and chilly. It was open enough to meet other travelers but also private if you wanted to be on your own. I didnt get the chance to eat in the cafe....

I went to this "hotel" with a friend and was really glad we did! The service is great as the staff&owner are really nice and glad to help you with any information you need. They make you feel welcomed and are totally helpful from beginning (when we booked per email) to the very end. There also is free wifi. The...

Staying in Neukolln

Neighbourhood Profile
No Berlin neighbourhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as “Little Istanbul“. Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
