Hotel was great! The room was spacious and beds were comfy. Although there was no air con, the windows sufficient efficiently enough and there was also free WiFi! Would recommend again. However the elderly woman receptionist was VERY rude which made us feel uncomfortable and not wanting to ask for advice on food/places to visit from her as she was very patronising. The other receptionists were lovely and always said hello when seeing us, apart from this one woman. It’s a shame to have a bad person on front of house, as everything else was superb
Stayed as part of a 'Wowcher' deal & pleasantly surprised after reading some negative reviews. It's only a 25min tram ride to central Berlin & transport is regular, cheap & super reliable. Room was very clean & spacious but there is some traffic noise. Hotel has a bar which also serves snacks & a bowling alley open til 10pm. Breakfast is we'll worth it & staff were excellent.
The name has it covered! A comfortable base from which to explore the city. It’s about 20/25 mins out of the centre but the transport network is excellent and easy to use. 45 mins to the airport at Tegel and all other sights easy to get to. The hotel itself does everything you want from a budget hotel. It’s clean, warm, spacious and the showers are great! The bowling is a bonus and the bar serves a good selection of beer with simple snack food. Ideal for a pit stop or if you arrive late. We found the staff helpful and efficient, thanks! The main thing to be aware of is the fact you’re in a residential area, and it’s a distance easy. That means blocks of flats and the shops are a couple of stops away on the tram.
Comfortable stay, spacious rooms and helpful staff. Tram stop is a 2 minute walk away. Arrived late on 1st night and gentleman on the desk even helped us order a takeaway and translated for us. And on checkout at 11am, they allowed us to leave our belongs in a room behind reception to collect at a later time (8pm) to save carrying around all day which was great. Didn’t use bar or food service so can’t comment on these.
We bought the holiday through the Wowcher mystery holiday. On arrival we was given a room which had 2 single beds even though we had specifically booked a double room. We spoke to the receptionist who advised us there was no double beds in the entire hotel, which was a lie. I found out once we were home from a friend who recently stayed there that the hotel does have double beds, so for 3 nights we had to sleep on pushed together single beds and falling down the middle. The room was really warm with no air con, so we had to have the window open majority of the time but it was so noisy due to the main road being outside the hotel, plus the sirens of ambulances going to and from the hospital next door! We was on the 11th floor and the window opened fully with no safety latch, which is a big safety hazard, especially if you have children with you. The hotel was quite far from the centre of Berlin, however there is a tram stop a 2 minute walk from the hotel with trams every 5 mins. It’s about a 30/40 min tram ride to the centre. There is a bar downstairs which had a selection of drinks which was open till about 10pm/11pm. Overall very very basic and disappointed that we was blatantly lied to, as that could have made our stay that bit better.…
This is an adequate hotel offering adequate accommodation. Breakfast is also adequate. Unfortunately there are no bars or restaurants in the vicinity as it is an industrial area. Trams run every ten minutes (24/7) into the city but this takes approximately 30minutes. Travel to the airport is by tram & overland train taking at least 50 min's. On the plus side the transport system is superb and very cheap!!
Stayed here on a long weekend to Berlin for 3 nights, large comfortable rooms and always had clean towels and good housekeeping. Staff at the hotel were friendly enough, Bar was a bit sparse and shut at 10pm but as we got back late most nights it was fine, better value breakfasts to be found around Alex Platz but as the tram was every 6 mins and it was only a 20min ride that was fine. I would have no hesitation in returning as our stay was more than adequate.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with a group of friends, and I must admit we received the worst customer service ever. Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Our first bad experience happened when we asked if there was anywhere nice they would recommend to go and eat, they suggested we go to IKEA for dinner! -__- which was next door. Asked reception for new towel for the next day, they told us to come down and get some, which was fine. However we came back from dinner around 11.30pm and asked at reception for towels at this time there was no actual staff at the desk only security. This security man looked shocked that we were disturbing him on his duty and asking him questions giving us dirty looks as is we were asking him about rocket science. 'What do you want from me' 'Do you want money' as if we just came in from the streets, he was very rude and intimidating. I do not recommended this hotel it is not run properly the staff are rude and unhelpful, never experienced customer service like this.. shocking.…
Whilst this hotel is well furbished with good size bedrooms, and offering a substantial breakfast it is a good 20 to 30 minutes (by tram) from Berlin City centre. There are no other bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity ( being in an industrial zone) but there's a bar on site offering snacks. In addition, there's a bowling alley adjacent to the bar.
My husband and I booked a cheap trip through Wowcher and we were allocated this hotel. For the deal it was fine - rooms were clean through the bathroom could have done with some updating. We were on the 15th floor which gave you pretty good views of the surrounding area but the hotel is about 30-40 minutes outside the centre of Berlin and is located on a very busy road (next to Ikea) with cars and trams. The hotel could do with some double or even triple glazing as the noise from the road was unbearable in the mornings and even late at night. The room had no air con unit which was annoying at the room would heat up very quickly. We opend the windows to cool the room down but couldn't leave them open due to the noise outside. Another worrying thing was that there is no safety lock to restrict how far the window opens, so I found myself leaning out a hugw window 15 floors up so if you are staying here with children, make sure they don't go near the windows! Despite the hotel being out of the city centre, the trams are very frequent and take you to the main square Alexanderplatz in about 30 mins. We didn't spend a lot in the hotel but the free wifi stretched all the way to our room which was an added bonus. The hotel could do with updating their bed pillows as the ones in our room were very flat. The staff at reception were kind enough to give us more which made sleeping a little bit more comfortable albeit the noise. All in all, not bad for a cheap holiday.…
