The first thing to take note of with the Lichtenberg is its location as the hotel is situated on the edge of an industrial estate, so no local cafes, restaurants, places to walk to etc. On the plus side the fantastic, and cheap, tram system...More
Not so big room. But quiet in the downtown area. My room is in the back so there is the moon view. Breakfast is ok. Regarding the hosts, their attitudes differs. Normally long face, like I own them money.
We stayed in this hotel for four days with my son during a holiday tour in Germany. It was just what we were looking for - a good basic hotel with clean rooms, parking place for the car and near to public transportation.
Over booked!! Kids don't get wifi. Key didn't open the room. Just all round crappy experience. The lobby was jam packed with people and suitcases and no one really seemed to know what was happening. I guess they still might wow us with breakfast in...More
Easter soup gave me the runs toilet paper very thin, wouldn't want to be clean up staff. Pool table lop sided, cues made of plastic. Rip off over two euros for a 200ml coke from the bar. Breakfast basic, bizarre mixture of butter and ice....More

I can't say I was there during the day but there was a bowling alley and that is where we are breakfast in the morning. not sure if that was because we were in a group. there was rather large common area where they served a buffet that I believe we had to pay extra for but I can't remember. I hope this helps. I don't believe there were alot of places close by either, where you could just walk to get food. a taxi would be your best bet to get to some good places for food if this does not have a full restaurant.

The hotel is located in the eastern part of Berlin and quite far away from Tegel. I believe you could take the train to the Hauptbahnhof and the further with the Metro to Alexanderplatz. From there the Tram. The Tram stops about 2 min walk from the Hotel. If you ask the reception for Vegan breakfast they could arrange it for you.
