I loved my stay in this hotel. I had booked a room with a river view and was delighted by the spacious room with a stunning view over the River Spree and the beautiful historic buildings opposite. The hotel is ideally located just 5 mins walk from Bellevue station with a number of great restaurants to choose from. The neighbourhood is ideal and a great place from which to explore Berlin. Only downside: the restaurant in the hotel is a little pricey and at €25 the breakfast is simply not worth it!
The room was not as good as expected: weird placement for the television, no coffee machine in the room. We expect today higher standards. Anyway, breakfast was good and hotel service provided support to all my requests.
We were in the Villa which lies directly on the waterfront. The suite had all we could want, a very comfotable sofa, small fridge, tub, shower, two toilets and long windows that allowed you to sit back and watch the passing river traffic. The beds were stable and the pillows soft but not floppy -ideal. Hygiene concept was followed and positively enforced by the staff. Breakfast was busy, but again, there was everying there including freshly made omlettes, vegan cheese, lactose free milk and a glass of bubbly. Check-In and out was quick, friendly and professional. Parking is available in a large public underground car park. The in-house restaurant has also good quality food and a comfortable ambiance. We found it very easy to unwind here!
The river Spree flows nearby. If you stay here, Berlin could be easily traversed. The public transportation is really good with this hotel. The only thing is that safe took few arduous attempts to open.
I stayed for a week, and most of the time I was working from my room, online. The WiFi connection was very good, even for video conferences. The view from my room on the river provided relief from my screen time and there were plenty of stores, restaurants and green spaces in the area for a break. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would totally recommend this hotel as it has the perfect mix of supporting both work and tourist activities.
The Abion is situated directly on the Spree in a business park-like complex. It is a short walk to Sbahn and Ubahn from which one can reach most tourist destinations in Berlin in a short trip. Our room was well appointed with a spacious bathroom, safe, strong WIFI, minibar and coffee machine. We were housed in a small separate building across the courtyard from the main hotel but actually found this very comfortable. The housekeeping staff were particularly pleasant and deserve a special mention. The hotel staff are really trying hard to maintain Corona hygiene measures under very difficult conditions. There are hand sanitiser dispensers everywhere and guests are asked to book for breakfast and wear masks in the building (with a mostly good success rate). Due to the Corona situation, the usual breakfast buffet has been modified into a hybrid version with individual portions available for self service and more sensitive items being served by staff from behind the counter. Unfortunately this has only proved partially successful as long queues form for the served food at peak times and although there are disinfection cloths around the buffet, there are still many guests touching the same coffee and orange juice dispensers and helping themselves to food every morning. When the breakfast room is full, the congestion and number of people can feel a bit uncomfortable for those conscious of hygiene rules so it would be better to come earlier in the session and enjoy the room in peace and quiet. If logistics allowed it would be preferable to forget the queueing and buffet completely and do a a la carte service for breakfast. The time spent trying to get food and avoid contact with others makes the modified buffet inefficient and people take a long time to get through a small breakfast causing more congestion. It is not an easy time to travel or to run a hotel but the Abion management are doing a good job to keep the wheels turning. The location is great and I would recommend to other visitors.…
Very good hotel on the bank of the Spree river just a step back from the centre of town. ************ I had a couple of niggles about this place but when the next hotel was way less good for more money I ate humble pie. The rooms are beautifully designed with distressed wood. You generally get a bath for extra luxuriation. A big plus for me was the huge window which meant an extra sense of space during the day. You can open the window, again a plus. The hotel is in a vast former warehouse, with an extension that comprises the reception. I had really good nights' sleep since the hotel is away from the main road, and next to the river. Extremely well done! The only drawback I can think of is there's no kettle or fridge. ****** NEARBY Go up to the road, Moabit, and turn R and there's a nice café, Coffeemamas on a following corner. Turn L instead and the other side of the park is the nearest metro, TurmStr. There's also a swish indoor shopping centre (entrance near to Meininger Hotel) leading to Kaufland supermarket. On the river, west along the riverbank from the hotel, is an interesting café/bookshop, Buchkantine. WALK You can walk to the main historical stuff through the Tiergarten in half an hour. BUS You can get the 106 bus from LevetsowStr near the Spree. METRO Called the U-Bahn ("Ooh-Barn"), and with a big U at each station entrance. You can pay cash on the bus. Single tickets or day passes available at U stations. USEFUL In the large warehouse building is an organic supermarket with lunchtime buffet, and a post office. In the office block next to the hotel is an underground car park, €15 a day with the hotel.…
The hotel is set alongside the river Spree and affords pleasant walks along its banks. It is a very popular path for joggers, particularly on the weekend. It is situated in easy reach of the City centre. There is a train station some 500m away. Our room, like many others, disappointingly overlooked neighbouring buildings was both comfortable and quiet. The blackout blinds and overall silence made sleep an easy pleasure. Sadly there were no facilities provided for a waking cuppa nor was there a mini bar, however and bizarrely there were instructions provided on where and how to replenish it! The breakfast buffet was sumptuous and appetising in a large dining room. The main restaurant relied heavily upon local cuisine, which in itself, is not to our liking and we thought quite pricey. Unfortunately there is no mid priced dining with light bites available. The staff, throughout the hotel were friendly and obliging.…
I've stayed there twice in the last year. I've found the staff both friendly and responsive. The location on the Spree is quiet, but convenient to public transportation. And the breakfast buffet was truyl excellent, with a wide variety of choices. As far as complaints go, the furniture in my room the second time seemed a little on the tired side. But the first time, it was much better.
The hotel is nicely located along Spree river, close to an S-Bahn station and not too far away from the venues in the centre of the city, and has a friendly and adequate staff.Together with the good quality of the rooms, this all added up to a very comfortable stay in Berlin.
