Having stayed near Potsdamer Platz the last time we visited, we decided to move out of the City a bit and decided on the Charlottenburg area of Berlin in the old West Berlin. The hotel was really well situated - just off Kurfürstendamm, the main shopping street of Berlin with lots of bars and restaurants near by. The hotel itself...

This hotel is situated very close to the Ku damn so is in an excellent location for sight seeing, eating out, bars, etc. The room was very large with a walk - in wardrobe and lovely bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel

Nothing wrong with this hotel - good location, clean, functional: hold it! That's just it: we're led to believe that it is a nice boutique hotel with lots of character. Well, it isn't that, but instead a no frills business hotel. And no frills means a just about adequately equipped bathroom, breakfast in the entrance hall... But service was friendly,...

We used Heckers on the recommendation of fellow travel pros and were very impressed. My room was huge, decor a little out dated but the truly wonderful staff made me feel so very at home that I am booking my next trip to Berlin already. I cannot say enough about how friendly, helpful and of course efficient every aspect of...

We are currently staying in room 314 and let me tell you, it's enormous. I booked a comfort double room which I assume has been upgraded as looking on the floor plan this is by far the biggest room on the 3rd floor! It has a huge king bed, a sofa, desk and small table and chairs. There is also...

Dear guests, thank you very much for this very good review of our services. As we are currently using the German cable network in combination with satellite TV, we have to point out, that there are no movie channels in the free-tv at present. When the situation changes, we will certainly install these channels if at all possible. I have...

Location is great, right off the Kurfurstendamm, which is a terrific street to stay near...my room was excellent, no complaints...I did not partake in the breakfast or restaurant which I think was attached...and if you would like to wind down in the lobby, it is very tiny, about 3 or 4 chairs, not much doing...my only complaint lies in the...

Easy to find and excellent location. Taxi cost us 50 Euros from the airport. There is the Subway a 4 minute walk away, plus lots of shops and restaurants and bars and lovely Christmas lights on the street. The hotel is also very lovely upon first impression. We landed early (9am) into Berlin from the UK and I had emailed...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
