Stayed here while attending ITB. Agree that this is a reason that prices go up, but they where quit exorbitant. Service was good, staff very polite. Needed iron, was advised to go to ironing room on the 5th, only on insisting I was given one in he room. Breakfast very good

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your feedback at trip advisor. Unfortunately we do not understand exactly your comment regarding the ironing room because we have none. For all guests requesting an ironing broad, we bring this up to their hotel room With kind regards Maritim proArte Hotel Berlin Roberto Klimsch General Manager

The hotel is nice and close to the train station so very easy to get to. There is a large lobby which is very contemporary. Our room was clean and comfortable and included a coffee machine and kettle which is important for tea drinkers! Something makes me think there was no fridge but surely I must be wrong. The hotel...

The location is on the same street as Checkpoint Charlie, about 2 km down. I like the paintings and the sculptures in the hotel lobby and the corridors: modern, interesting. Good bathroom (tub earns minus points), good bed. Nice lady at the reception desk.

Stayed here for a conference which is convenient as it's all in the same building. Great location, but the hotel needs a facelift a little here and there. Chairs in the room were visible worn and that does not look good at such a price as this hotel asks for. Bed was very comfortable but had to ask for a...

After coming From Barcelone and Madrid where I stayed in excellent properties, I got a rude awakening checking into this hotel. First, there were no bell man to help with luggage. This hotel boasts a central location just off the Friedrichstraße, within walking distance of the many sights in the town center. The room was comfortable. My room did not have much of a view but it was quiet. The breakfast buffet was generous and tasty. My only quibble is that there was no water cooker for tea or coffee in...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
