Very good location to visit the zoo and to take the trip on city sightseeing bus tour (the first stop is very close). Overall the hotel was good: cozy rooms, recently renovated, good breakfast. Pool is very small - don't chose this hotel based on the pool only :) Staff very nice and helpful. Unfortunately there were construction works when... More

We spent ten nights at the Crowne Plaza in August 2014. We booked executive rooms on the 7th floor which included 'free' Wi-Fi and Minibar soft drinks/snacks. Each room booking comes with breakfast included. Pros - clean rooms, with king sized bed, and shower in the bathroom (no tub); international TV channels; the free Wi-Fi; swimming pool in the basement... More

Dear LouisePenn, Thank you for writing a detailed review of your experience. We appreciate your compliments regarding cleanliness and location. On the other hand, we regret that certain aspects of your stay did not make for a completely satisfying experience. We are very sorry the business center, room amenities, and challenges with the noise prevented you from fully enjoying your... More

Apart from the breakfast, Standard with a capital S. The rooms are small and they do that horrible trick of giving you a twin room with two beds pushed together. If I wanted to sleep with somebody I would ask for a double bed! I asked for a bigger room and the receptionist thought that was quite funny. So I... More

If suitcases roll easily, you can walk from the Berlin Zoologisher Garten Transit Station. Also 10 minutes walk to the famous Berlin Zoo. Staff go above and beyond to create a welcoming experience. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Family traveling with Grandmother. Good location for Zoo or English Garden. A bit further from the other main sites, however you can still walk there (through the English Garden, so it would take a while.). We walked to the Victory Column and then took a bicycle Rickshaw from the Victory Column to the... More

I stayed for four nights last week in this excellent located hotel. Very central and close to shops, zoo and tiergarten. For me the kindness, courtesy and friendliness of the staff really stood out. The reception staff in particular were a pleasure to engage with. (Tanya and Cat) Most Berlin Hotels compare evenly with price, facilities etc, but the staff... More

We stayed here for 7 nights. The location is really perfect, just a few steps to kurfuerstendamm street which is the most famous street in Berlin with lots of shops and restaurants. It was also close to KaDeWe (The biggest department store in Berlin and the second in Europe). The breakfast was excellent with lots of places to sit; you... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
