Three friends stayed four nights at the lovely Arco Hotel and found it a wonderful value. It's not a fancy place but just what we were looking for - very clean, comfortable and friendly. Our triple room was perfect for us and overlooked the garden, where we breakfasted each morning. The bathroom was spotless and modern and included hairdyer, soap,...

We stayed 2 nights with our 4 year daughter in this hotel and were very happy for our selection. Price included breakfast (our search criteria) and we enjoyed it on a nice breakfast room or on the terrace. Location is also very good: Quiet area but just a walk from Zoo and marketstreet where for example big department store KaDeWe...

I arrived at the Hotel Arco on 14 June after a morning flight from London. Taking the short walk from the U Bahn to Hotel Arco, the walk made me feel like I was at home; birds chirping, leafy green trees and no traffic noise.. Nothing like London, which I had just arrived from !! I have stayed at Hotel...

My partner and I stayed in the Arco for four nights on our first trip to Berlin. We booked the Arco in advance by email, and got a rate of 79 Euro per night, which we thought was quite a good deal. As others have noted, the Arco is slightly worn around the edges but has compensating virtues. The location...

We enjoy the hotel : - room are clean and simple - silent - good breakfast - helpfull and simpathatic staff The location is very convenient, very close to the U2 metro line. It is easy to visit Berlin from the hotel with the public transportation. I can definitively recommend this hotel.

I booked to stay at this hotel from 20-22 of Feb. I had to cancel a couple of days beforehand & was told I would have to pay 80% of the cost if the room remained empty. I rang the hotel on the 21st & asked if a room was available & was told the hotel was full. I was...

Good location near the gay area in Berlin. Easy walking distance to the restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood. Very quiet setting overlooking a courtyard. Good, friendly staff and come-and-go as you wish attitude. Okay breakfast, nothing special. All around decent place to stay.

They say that first impressions count, in which case the worn and dirty polypropylene carpet in the lobby could do well to be replaced. Based on the generally excellent reviews on this web site, we booked our stay directly with the hotel and found their reservations side of things very prompt and efficient. The hotel seems to be part hotel...

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
