Tall ceilings, great artwork with fantastic views. Could sleep six easily and is situated right amongst stacks of great places to drink and eat, plus right next to U and S Bahn and near to great range of shops. Internet wasn't working but not an issue for us. Great to use as a base if you are going out -...

We stayed at the St Oberholz for 2 nights over a weekend and it comes highly recommended. The location in Mitte is fantastic (the White Trash pub is within easy walking distance), the apartment is incredibly stylish and the staff extremely helpful. Emails were answered straight away and all staff, like most Germans, speak excellent English. The café downstairs (part...

Can't beat this beautiful airy space. Big windows, big rooms, big balconies. Good kitchen and dining space. Berlin hits you in the face (in a good way) as soon as you walk down the stairs and out the front door. Subway and trolley very close. Only thing that bothered me was the small shower and toilet room. Since rest of...

Staying at Sankt Oberholz was excellent, my husband, myself and 2 friends stayed there for 3 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us when we asked. This is a great area of Berlin to stay in, with plenty of funky cafes and lots of things within walking distance. The apartment was magnificent. Bright and airey, a great view...

We just returned from 8 nights at the St Oberholz apartments and I have to say I am really impressed. Everything in both apartments was clean and in working order. The beds are comfortable and the pillows and duvets are classic German downfill. The staff were organized, responsive and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The area is hopping...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Living in two sophisticated apartments. From July 2009 two extraordinary flats are available to rent. Both apartments have 125 sqm and are located in the third and fourth floor of the St.Oberholz corner building at Rosenthaler Platz. Due to their alignment towards the lively Rosenthaler Platz they are rather vivid, suffused with light and offer a spectacular view. Each flat contains five spacious well lit rooms with high ceilings, original fittings, engraved glass doors and 3 balconies. Both apartments adopt the outstanding St. Oberholz style: historical meets modern design, exquisite antiques combined with contemporary furniture. Exciting artworks of Berlin artists adorn the walls, whilst the library stocks a fine selection of books and magazines. ... more   less
