Very nice staff. However if it is 5 star hotel in the capital of Germany, one does not expect to order a glass of red wine and it is plonked on the bar for me to collect 5 minutes after ordering. So not 5 star. This does not happen in a 5 star hotel. No drinks etc. in the room ridge - Nothing ????? Not 5 star. Overall nice hotel and good location, but if you are not 5 star reduce the price,

In short, not really a 5* hotel. Renovations are STILL ONGOING. I had called 4 times before arriving to make sure i didn't get a noisy room, of course i got one right above the renovations. (Like why?) i changed 3 rooms. The staff don't really go the extra mile to help. Most of them had an attitude, but not all. We basically spent half a day changing rooms. The hotels that are under renovations should be CLOSED! Rooms were very clean, location is amazing, nice breakfast. Spa was really disappointing. In general, this is a nice 4* hotel. Would be really nice if the staff didn't give those automated, pre-planned answers to any concern, and actually deal with them instead of saying "I will pass it on to my team, i'm sorry for the inconvenience" - like saying i won't be helping you today 😂 Don't go expecting the highest level of service and luxury.

Dear Eleni, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and we regret, that in this case we have disappointed you. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we could learn from and use to improve. After renovation some reworks were necessary and we certainly can understand your annoyance in regards to the noise. Please take our deep apology for the inconveniences. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, The Westin Grand Berlin-Team, Andrea W.

first time in Berlin but having stayed at Westins in Valencia, Madrid & Paris, found this to be a safe bet. Centrally located and walking distance to many of the historic sites. Have to be the most comforatable hotel beds anywhere, but drinks and incidentals expensive. A very reliable and friendly format.

The check in was very effective during covid times. The room was big and cozy. Always complimentary water every day after cleaning. The breakfast was good and service as well. The bar downstairs was good and the staff was very friendly. We wanted to enjoy the spa so we booked also a massage. But the spa is nothing like it used to be and the pool on the photos is not there anymore. So the spa was a disappointment. But overall great hotel.

I arrived from Toronto, Canada on Sunday. This hotel was recently renovated so during my stay March 2022, I enjoyed the hotel with it's new renovations. Here is my review: Room: Stayed in a Junior Suite overlooking the garden that is owned by the hotel. the garden / courtyard is an amazing place to enjoy tranquility in the heart of the city. Room was clean and modern with ample plugs for electronic devices and fast free wifi. Towels and bathroom amenities were first class. Totally happy with my room. Service: The service was excellent from the front desk, room attendants and food and beverage staff. Ralf in the restaurant was amazing in keeping the restaurant guests happy and content during the breakfast service. Location: The hotel is perfectly located (walking distance) for shopping, tourist attractions, transit and major points of interest. 5-Stars for room, service and location.

Overall: An old lady that needs TLC! Missed opportunity: At check-in I reminded the associate that I was a Lifetime Titanium and would like a room upgrade. She “checked” and advised me that I had the best room available. I discovered the room to be an ordinary room with a view of a dead garden. So back to the front desk where the manager found me a junior suite. Unfortunately the suite still had a stinking dog bed and bowl from the previous guest. The staff worked quickly to fix that. Location: wonderful! Very central and walking distance from most everything downtown. I took the U train from the airport and then walked over. After checkout, walked over to the Berlin Hbf for a train to Hamburg. Lots of restaurants, upscale shops around. Ambience: the main floor/lobby/restaurant must have been quite grand. Now it somehow felt awkward. Rooms: the hotel is laid out over a block so you may have to walk a lot to get to your room. The rooms are being renovated but the renovated rooms that I saw did not impress. The best part of my room were the French windows that opened over Unter den Linden and yet were soundproof. Staff: they seemed overworked, especially at breakfast. Overall friendly but not smiley. Summary: recommended, especially for the location.

Great location - close to the train station, to the museums (like the DDR) and Brandenberg Gate! Within walking distance to Checkpoint Charlie and The Radio Tower etc. Good restaurants close by and lots of shops. Definitely recommend this hotel based on the staff too…. Superb customer service from the moment you go through the door. Their English is so much better than our German which was very helpful. The lobby is beautiful and if you look up, the dome ceiling is amazing! The rooms are large and have everything we needed (plus a coffee maker and a kettle!).The restaurant wasn’t available but the bar served food so wasn’t a problem. Food was great. They also had a 24hour menu but we didn’t try that. BEST BIT of staying here:- Bar service!! It was the best we’ve had. Friendly. Professional. Knowledgeable. Best cocktails we’ve had and The Old Fashioned was delicious. Robert and his colleague simply made our evening returns to the hotel perfect. Thankyou to all the staff and especially to all the bar staff! Definitely recommend this hotel.

For over a year, I’ve saved up for my first post-pandemic trip with my kids. I wanted to give us something to create special memories as they head to college. Due to alarming covid rates in Germany and that it is becoming more difficult to travel across Europe, I was in the unfortunate position to have to cancel this trip. I booked directly with Mariott because I felt that doing so would afford me the ability to cancel should something like this would happen…but I was mistaken. I’ve been charged for the entire stay just for asking about getting my refund for a trip that I’m unable to make (which is out of my control). I did not realize that this was going to become a David & Goliath situation. I am beside myself with grief in having to spend the energy in asking the Mariott to do what is right – which is offering a full refund. Instead, they charged my credit card for the full amount, told me there would be no refund and offered me 35k points as a token gesture. To stay in the same hotel for the same number of days, I’d need 145k points. This is no incentive to me to build my status with Marriott. I’ve been taken advantage of - constantly and have every door slammed in my face after having to speak with multiple customer service agents – including the Hotel General Manager. This is an open letter to Mariott sharing that this is NOT how you should treat your customers who place their faith in you especially when they have chosen to book directly. COVID affects businesses and people, but it is far more easily for business to bounce back. I hope that Mariott can be more sympathetic to their customers during this pandemic. It’s quite shocking that they aren’t already. Hopefully as they move forward, they will improve how they treat customers that have been affected by this pandemic.
