I have stayed here many times and it usually is superlative. The latest visit was disappointing and I fear it was because the hotel was full. The service was weak at breakfast and in the bar because the service staff was overwhelmed with the crowds. The front desk ran out of money to change! One night turndown did not occur... More

Our visit was off to a rocky start due to President Obama departing shortly before we arrived but thanks to the Ladies in Red (guest services managers), we eventually got to our room which was spectacular. They did not miss a single detail when it came to the fact that we had a toddler with us (beautiful crib with high... More

We booked afternoon tea for a birthday treat. We had visited the hotel on a previous visit for drinks in the lovely bar. The afternoon tea is upstairs in a galleried section above the bar. Unfortunately, the atmosphere up there is nowhere near as good as the one downstairs - and only small tables for 2 overlook the downstairs area... More

Old world elegance and service not to mention and location, location, location! Yes, it's apparently at a stiff price; but well worth it! Near the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten; it's an easy walk into history. Memorable and iconic.

We stayed three for nights. The second I walked into the lobby I was completely and utterly amazed. The check in was quick and friendly. The room was luxurious and clean. The service throughout has been quick and friendly. There was a pool, which we weren't expecting. There were three restaurants plus the Lobby Bar. The location is incredibly close... More

If you get a room on to the left of where thez sell all memorabilia, you will have a spectacular view of the gate. Photographic lovers must take pictures in the morning before 11.30. The sun is on the gate. Afternoon is not good as the 5 horses on top of the gate have shade. The three restaurants and the... More

Elegant hotel right next to the Brandenburg Gate. Beautiful view from the room and exceptional room decor. This is a top notch hotel that comes with a high price tag associated with it. Another great aspect is the breakfast. It is wonderful. One down side is the gym is small and lacks the room to provide you a true workout.

Well, I have been to this hotel many times. At least 8. I have already written a review the 1st time and I think it's time to review after almost 3 years. This hotel keeps improving its services. It already started renovating some rooms. The pool has been also renovated. The breakfast area served on the 1st floor has been... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
