The Adlon Kempinski is located just in the centre of Berlin, next to the Branderburg Gate and few steps from the Wilhelmstrasse. The room was really spacious and comfortable, and so was the extremely clean bathroom. The room service was pretty good and good value (it is not cheap, but you get what you pay). If I return to Berlin,...

Just back from a weekend break in Berlin where we stayed at the Adlon. This really is a fantastic hotel. Elegant and classy. Great staff and level of service. We had a deluxe room that was lovely and well sized. Breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the Brandenburg Gate is worth the cost. A stay here is never going to be...

Could not wish for a better hotel for the Easter break in Berlin. Unbeatable location right next to Brandenburg Gate, impeccable service, elegant surrounds and one of the best breakfasts I've experienced. Room spacious and beautifully appointed. Only area for improvement would be the fitness centre. Highly recommended.

Expensive coffee and delicious mini hazelnut bunt cakes. Perfect to escape the cold outside. The lobby is warm and friendly with polite staff. Not much remains of the original but the elephant fountain is beautiful.

Dear esteemed guest, thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and reviewing Hotel Adlon Kempinski. We are very glad that you liked the atmosphere in our lobby while staying with us. As you mentioned, nearly nothing has been left of the old Hotel Adlon after the fire in 1945, which is why the new Hotel...

Beautiful hotel dating back to the 1900's, steeped in history and regarded by many as the only place to stay in Berlin. As you enter the dramatic lobby with fountain and grand piano you can almost imagine Marlene Dietrich performing (legend has it she was discovered here). Flawless service and kind, knowledgeable staff.

Upon arrival, we got our room 452 at 9 am including an upgrade. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and had everything we needed (internet, coffee machine, hair dryer, ipad, free shoe cleaning, free NY times....). Comfortable and good understated design. Breakfast was fantastic. We sat in both the library and another room overlooking Brandenburger Tor. Attentive staff and...

The Aldon is a superb luxury hotel - the room was first class; all staff helpful, polite and knowledgeable and the leisure facilities were perfect. It seemed nothing was too much. Our only regret was that we had to leave. We shall definitely be returning.

A fabulous hotel, ideally situated to spend a few days exploring Berlin. The room was superb and the staff brilliant. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The only slightly down point was the bar was really crowded and there was not much space, however that gives a good indication of its popularity.

The service, the decor, the amenities of the Adlon Kempinski still impress! We had stayed here on a long weekend two years ago and chose the hotel for an eight day stay this time. The location is convenient, with the Brandenburg Gate on the doorstep, the Reichstag and the Komische Oper just short walks away, the Museum Insel close by.....

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
