This is an absolute gem of a hotel and I would highly recommended it to anybody visiting the city of Berlin. We did take a taxi from the airport to the hotel costing us €45 (!) but on returning we took advantage of the trains which cost us €3.50 each! We chose to walk all around the city all weekend,...

While the front desk people were nice enough, it wasnt enough to make this feel like a good place to stay. The rooms are hard to reach if you have lots of luggage, multiple doors to pass through, you have to go outside from the reception to access the elevator. The wifi does not reach the room. When you shower,...

Hotel is ok but noise coming from nearby trains is terrible. Matrix is nice. Room large enough for a couple. If you don't mind the noise then location is very good situated near Berlin zoo and subway. If you are coming from airport in the night by train trip is quite long around 1 and half hours.

Worst Hotel I have stayed at in Germany. Not quiet, not soundproofed, poor reception staff, Showers leak all over the floor, Migrants sleeping in reception through the night. Rooms below standard. Waste of money. Trains really loud outside the windows, Teenagers being loud in Playground next to hotel all night. Stay eleswhere if you want a nice hotel.

If you are just looking for a neat, cheap and clean place to spend the night, The EngergieHotel is your place! The location is great, very close to the U- and S-bahn. I would recommend this place to everyone who's looking for a place to sleep during a citytrip.

Hotel was clean with friendly staff, however the train line is approx 5 metres away and very noisy. Good location and easy access to the U-Bahn. I would recommend this hotel as long as you're not a light sleeper

The hotel is comfortable, clean and very close to S-Bahn Savignyplatz station. The room are very simple, with just basic accessories and nothing more. Little bit cold! There are two buildign, one with the reception and (maybe) some nicer rooms and the adjacent building with most of the rooms, simpler.

Room was warm, comfortable and the small safe was an excellent facility. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although I spoke some German they spoke very good English when communication became difficult. Easy access to the city centre only a 3 minute walk to the Savignyplatz train station. Good internet (from my phone) but seemed to deteriorate on the penultimate...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
