This is a great choice for a city break to Berlin. Rooms are minimalist but adequate - clean, warm and quiet. The curtains are heavy so the room is pitch black at night and the bed very comfortable. Staff go out of their way to assist you. Very near Stademitte underground and round the corner from Check Point Charlie. We...

A good hotel in a convenient location..Close to Checkpoint Charlie, public transport and foods places. The room itself was average, all the basic needs covered. Comfortable bed, spacious for a couple..We had backpacks so had no luggage taking up space. Bathroom was a decent size and clean. TV was tiny but we were out most of the day so didn't...

Walking distance to Check Point Charlie, Berlin Wall Memorial and Stadtmitte station. Had a nice room on the 4th floor until a school party arrived. The hotel did everything they could to move us to a nice quite room on an upper floor. Would highly reccomend this hotel.

Very clean, lovely staff, super comfortable and absolutely perfect location. Felt very welcome. Thanks for a great stay. Also you can buy the Berlin welcome cards there which really helps. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms are small, but nice and clean. Just some minutes walk to city center. On the reception there was a small problem by check-in, but otherwise everyone was nice, young and friendly. The barkeeper specially ready to talk to the quests.

This hotel is just a few meters from checkpoint charlie and in the shadow of the wall. Nice places to eat nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lovely Germam bakeries doing a huge breakfast. Our package from the travel agent didnt include breakfast but therefore wasnt a problem. The sightseeing bus passes near check point Charlie so handy for that...

My stay at Hotel Gat Point Charlie was nothing exceptional but it was absolutely worth it. The room was small, but clean and comfortable (My only complaint is that we could not figure out a means for totally turning off the light at night). The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a good location, situated near the...

Feels like new hotel. Rooms are quite small but you have everything what you need for the short vacation. It's Stasi's old building so for history freak's this is good choice. Lot of historical places near like checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall, Brandenburg tor and holocaust monument. All of those are in two kilometers range. Breakfast was also good. No noises...

We went to Berlin as our first holiday together and we're perhaps a bit apprehensive with what we would get for our money. The hotel was great value for money and appeared luxurious for what we paid. The staff were friendly enough and spoke basic enough English to get us by. The hotel is well situated and within walking distance...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
