The staff were friendly, the bathrooms clean... but thats about it! The room we stayed in was in one of the pictures on hostel world/bookers, but we were a little disappointed when we arrived. The graffiti on the walls looked old and dated (a layer of white paint wouldn't go a miss) & the wall with the window was covered...

Traveled in January, solo, six bed dorm. The dorms are well kept with clean bedding. They're also quite vibrant as each features some sort of graffiti art work. Sleep quality was great, however I bring earplugs and there was one occurrence of a late party in the common area next to my dorm. However they did wrap it up by...

Aloha hostel was great!! At first the graffiti on the walls made us second guess our opinion, but as soon as we opened the doors we knew we were wrong. All the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming in every way. They hosted a live band on a night to get everyone together, which was a great way in meeting...

Aloha is a gem. I've been annoying my friends gushing about it. In my three nights there I was greeted by a warmth and welcome I never expected from a hostel. If you're travelling by yourself or are feeling at all lost overseas, this hostel is perfect. Cheap, warm, homely, friendly, fun. Everything I look for in a hostel now....

Probably one of the best hostels you'll ever go to. This place just oozes charm from the walls, its excellently placed and from what you pay, you get awesome value just in experiences. I met some of the most interesting and fascinating people at this place and made friends that will last much longer than the trip. I'm sure you...

Surely one of the best hostels i ve never been. Economic, for young people. The front of building is....horrible, but after it is so so cool, full of graffitis this hostel is...different. Good environment, nice staff, they will help you in all that you need. 5 minutes to Alexander Plaz, so the localitation is perfect. Breakfast include.

Hidden away behind a shady looking door but such a little gem!! Stayed here quite recently for 4 days after finding it online and reading lots of positive reviews and I can't wait to return. The whole place just has a very easy going, relaxed & friendly vibe which is what you want when staying in a hostel as it...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

“If you take the six bed dorm invest in some earplugs. Not just for noisy sleepers, but sometimes they have events on the main floor (where the six bed dorms are) which can get a little loud if you're tired from a long day. However that being said, they're not noisy for long, the events usually wrap up around 11 to 12 at night.”
