Neighbourhood
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

Visited this hotel at the start of the year.

Couldn’t fault it, we arrived early so they put our bags in storage so we could go and enjoy the city.
Tram stop right outside, very cheap.
We got the train to and from the hotel to the airport with ease, again right outside.

Booked this via jet 2 holidays and we weren't disappointed beautiful hotel with friendly efficient staff. Four star hotel but nearer a five in my opinion. We had a massive room with a lovely big bathroom with a huge walk in shower as well as a bath. Excellent choice for breakfast

Huge hotel, seems new or newly renovated! Went for a convention that was being held at the hotel, they really have a good infrastructure for it.
The downsides: impossible to iron clothes by yourself and smelly roomfloor halls

It’s a huge hotel and the walk from the lift to our room was at least double that walking from Reception to the tram stop outside! Having said that, it wasn’t an issue and the hotel corridors were very quiet at night. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything required.

How is the executive lounge? Thanks!
Never managed to get into it, despite having an executive room. Think it is mainly open during the week for corporate guests.

How long is the journey from Tegal Airport by public transport. Arriving mid week, early afternoon. Is it a train or bus or both. Do we buy tickets on board. Many thanks.
No Trains from Tegal Airport I would advise you to catch a bus towards Alexander Platz ( so many busses from the Airport ) after that tram 5 a few stops to the hotel and the hotel is outside the tram stop. You can not buy tickets on board the bus or the tram from the tourist information at the airport you could buy a ticket for unlimited travel like a travel card in London you can buy it for one day or two or whatever but remember to validate it through the machine in the first bus you will going to catch other wise it wont be valid. good luck and enjoy Berlin
