Lets start with the positives. Location was really great (10 min walk to Alexanderplatz or museuminsel), loved the shower and Nilou at the desk was great!! It could be a really great hotel if they make some changes; fire the really rude guy at the desk, put more towels in the bathroom, upgrade the breakfast (scarce and in a conference room), rent out better bikes (they were really old and we are Dutch so used to bad bikes 😄).

So some recommendations;
•for dinner Haicoffee at Wallstrasse had great sushi (walking distance). For great Vietnamese go to mr Vuong!
•for breakfast Yada Yada or just get something at the supermarket opposed to the hotel.
•For ‘pay what you think its worth’ walking tour book at Walkative. They start at the rotes rathaus, bus stops at hotel and at rotes rathaus or walk 10 minutes.
•Skip the hop on bus and just take a ride with bus 100, same route!

dear dorinepeters, Thank you for your wonderful review and for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you had a great stay. Unfortunately, due to renovation work, we are currently only offering a small breakfast menu at a reduced price in our conference rooms. But good news: From mid-June we will be able to open our restaurant again and serve a full range of breakfasts again. We also thank you for the other information. We are already looking forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Barbara Blessing-Umlauft Operations Manager

We were in Berlin for a week and booked Capri by Fraser for our stay as it was centrally located.
The reception staff were exceptional and ensured we had a wonderful stay. We stayed in room 516 and highly recomend this corner room. All rooms are sound proof and even though the hotel is next to a busy street one couldn't hear any sound. After a long day this is important for that good night sleep. I love my soft mattress ,may be some don't but this was a welcome treat for me. The hotels is very clean and modern.
Checkin was seamless, the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
We stayed in a room with kitchenette which had a washing machine, microwave, cooking range, kettle and small fridge. One thing we could suggest to the hotel is to provide may be a few laundry tabs or detergent as we ended up buying a big box just for a week and may be used it twice.
Phillipe and Maja ( I believe those were their names) at the reception were very kind and helpful.
All in all we will definitely be using this hotel again and may be also try some of their other locations.
P.S- They provided us with these wonderful face masks which are the most comfortable masks worn by me.
The hotel also offers daily bike rentals ( we didn't get to use these)
The hotel doesn't currently provide food and beverage services due to Corona , however coffee, tea, sandwiches and drinks are available at the reception 24/7.

I stayed at the Capri for my first solo holiday and couldn’t fault it. My deluxe studio room was huge by European standards, the decoration was nice and modern, and the kitchenette was perfect for making breakfast and keeping drinks cold. There’s a good sized fridge, sink, hob, extractor fan and all utensils. Bathroom was big and clean, bed was really comfortable.

I’d requested a quiet room and barely heard a sound! The digital keypad by the door allows you to select ‘do not disturb’ or ‘please make up my room’ which was a nice touch.

I used the gym which was small but perfectly adequate with cardio and weight equipment as well as towels and water.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is a 10 minute walk to Museum Island. I used the U-bahn and felt safe in the neighbourhood walking back on my own in the dark.

A couple of reviews I read mentioned issues with heating / air con, it was 2 degrees outside and I didn’t have any air con / heating on and the temperature was fine.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again, having a kitchenette in a comfortable, modern and quiet room in central Berlin - 10/10.

We had booked for 4 nights an executive studio room for 2 persons via BookingCom December 28, 2019 January 1, 2020.
The hotel is well located, modern, the studio is comfortable with a beautiful view, properly equipped. proper bedding and good soundproofing.
On the other hand, we had to regret many problems which make us consider that the services are not up to a 4 stars and do not justify the price paid.
The reception was cold, without explanation in particular on the rather singular need to have to present a voucher for the breakfasts, however planned during our reservation.
On arrival, the soap dispenser was empty. Despite my request, it is not completed and will not be during the stay despite repeated requests. Likewise, a request for tea bags will go unanswered.
The next day, at breakfast, a waiter demands vouchers. I am surprised, tells him that no one had told us about this completely unusual procedure (neither when booking on the website, nor at reception) and gives him my room number. He replied that I must go to the reception to get. I tell him that my breakfast is getting cold and that I will go after that. He calls his boss who is threatening and demands that I go there immediately. I had never seen this attitude which was very rude and totally unacceptable vis-à-vis a customer. So we decided not to have our breakfasts the following days
The maintenance of the studio was minimal: no cleaning floors and trash not emptied in the kitchen. One day, no change of towels even though they were put on the ground to indicate the need for change. As the telephone in the room did not work...., I was forced to go down to the reception. Towels will be mounted us after an hour!

Reading customer comments on the Booking Com site, we note that the same housekeeping problems had been reported in the previous months by several customers. Any responses like: "We will endeavor to improve our service" have clearly not been followed up...!
It would certainly be advisable for the manager responsible for housekeeping to be replaced, which would be done in any good hotel in the light of recurring comments from customers. The breakfast staff should also be at least courteous.

To conclude, traveling a lot professionally and for leisure, and considering that this Capri hotel is the first of the Fraser chain that I have experienced, it is clear that I now have a bad opinion of this chain and that I do not would definitely use more

Dear Guest, Thanks you so much for taking the time to review your stay and voicing your concerns and feedback. I am very sorry that so many things went wrong particularly with breakfast and housekeeping. I fully understand how disappointed you were with so many standard items amiss in your room and then at breakfast. We operate with vouchers here as the restaurant is actually outsourced to a third party. Having said that, this should not affect your experience in any way and our reception should have explained to you properly. The restaurant manager has been spoken to and been given a warning both personally and regarding his team and our reception staff has received the necessary re-training. As for housekeeping, I fully agree that things must change here urgently and despite having taken measures to sort out the issues before, this has now been escalated to the next level and the directors of the cleaning company are involved in order to support the team on site. Once again I am so sorry that your experience at Capri by Fraser Berlin was so disappointing and can only say that this is not the standard you can expect from us or our company. If there is anything I can do at this stage to compensate for what happened, please do not hesiate to contact me. Kind regards from Berlin Sabine General Manager

We stayed here for a long weekend in early December and were really impressed by what it had to offer. The check-in was swift and helpful with good WiFi and our room was spotless and of a good size. The bathroom was spacious and modern with quality complementary toiletries and good water pressure from the over bath shower. The location of the Hotel is excellent and although it doesn't seem too central when looking at a map it is perfect for seeing the sights within walking distance of its doors. We used Uber a couple of times and also for our airport transfers which was a reasonable enough cost. We didn't have breakfast as we wanted to explore the city however we made use of the supermarket across the road for snacks and drinks for when we got back at night.

We travel worldwide and this was the least satisfactory accommodation we have stayed in for many years. The bed was the most uncomfortable we have had for at least 30 years and it made my wife's back so stiff that it seriously affected our short break in Berlin. The breakfast offered is very mediocre and greatly overpriced. For the next 4 mornings we bought food to eat in our room in the morning, something we should have preferred very much not to do, After 3 nights stay we thought the very basic quality towels provided were somewhat soiled. We put them on the floor and stripped back the bed for clean sheets to be put on. When we returned in the afternoon the room was as we left it! I complained to reception. I was given fresh towels but told we would have to remake the bed ourselves with the soiled sheets. On requesting another room I was told very forcefully that this was not possible. No information is provided in the room and the staff appear to want to ignore guests unless you actually confront them.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and giving us the chance to respond. I am so sorry to see that you were dissatisfied with so many aspects of your stay. We do try to select a type of mattress that is suitale for a broad range fo guests and will be checking the mattress in the room you stayed nevertheless. Your feedback on breakfast is duly noted and has been communicated to the restaurant manager, in fact we are already looking into making fundamental changes in this area. I can fully understand your frustration regarding room cleaning and have spoken to both the receptionist in question and raised the issue with our Housekeeping Manager. Once again I am very sorry that so many things went wrong. If there is anything I can do at this stage, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Kind regards Sabine General Manager

All in all, good value for money, the price was very good in comparison to other hotels in Berlin.

The hotel is very modern, great lobby area, all looks very new. I feel like the website description is very exaggerated, although it's somewhat to be expected. The "business area" consists of two desks with computers, which is okay, you'd just expect it to be larger reading their description of it. The bar on the ground floor seemed to be permanently closed or at least unoccupied by the staff, which was very disappointing. You could get a bottle of beer or wine at the reception but it's just not the same. The whole lobby area was very quiet and lifeless.

The room was clean, with fast internet, eqipped with a small kitchen, which was nice. The double bed had only one duvet, which was a bit uncomfortable. The windows are very soundproof, you can barely hear any cars. Unfortunately they don't open so you can't let any fresh air in. The biggest surprise was that the room had no hairdryer. I mean, campsites have free hairdryers nowadays, so it's somewhat shocking for a 4 star hotel.

The location is good, you can walk to Alexanderplatz or Museuminsel in 15-20 minutes. U-Bahn and S-Bahn are also about 20 minutes walking distance.

Comfortable rooms with good beds, kitchenette and decent bathroom with a bath.
Housekeeping was less than fantastic - had to ask for toilet paper and they forgot the bath mat one day.
Location is good with bus which takes you to major train stations or an easy stroll to Alexanderplatz.
Nice cafe located on the ground floor.
Happy to recommend as it had everything we needed for our stay.

Firstly, the room was pleasant and good value, and the hotel was in a great location.

Unfortunately, there were couple of things that we didn't love. We did not realise we would not be able to open the window in the room, not having fresh air in the room and living there for a week wasn't pleasant, especially because we did not have air conditioning only heating!

The fridge did not work very well, and the few pieces of cutlery could have been cleaner.

Also, the refillable dispensers in the shower were empty, with the toiletries bottles sitting on top which wasn't very glamorous and a bit annoying to use.

I appreciate that Covid makes things difficult but we had to go down to reception to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper, we stayed here for a week and the bed wasn't refreshed or the room cleaned or bins empty.

One thing that was really unacceptable was other guests leaving rubbish outside their rooms, I'm guessing this is because of the lack of room service which is fair enough, but most of the time the rubbish and empty food boxes would be sitting there for 1-2 days which was really disgusting and not pleasant to see coming in and out of our room.

The staff were lovely but one staff member in particular seemed inexperienced, and they were working on their own for breakfast service, they were playing a radio talkshow very loud and did not seem very switched on with helping with the breakfast. We had breakfast once and it was extremely overpriced for what we received– a raw egg, completely gone off soya milk and a bit of brown fruit, the coffee cups also didn't fit into the coffee machine...but the bread was fresh which we were glad for!

I also think the security could have been tighter, we came in late to the hotel sometimes and no one asked us for our room number or key, so it made me feel like anyone could have walked in..

Lastly, one of the reasons we booked this hotel was because of the convenience of Kaffee Karamel, when booking it said the cafe would be closed until 31 December, we were really disappointed that it stayed closed for our whole stay.

Overall, our stay was pleasant.

Dear Kate S, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased that you had a great stay by the location and the friendly staff. However, we apologize that not everything was to your satisfaction. I would like to explain. The Kaffee Karamel is closed due to water damage, and has been for a long time. We have noted this everywhere online and it can also be viewed on the cafe's website. For security reasons, the windows can only be opened by hotel staff. We are always happy to help and open the window for you if desired. Due to CoVid-19, room cleaning only takes place every two days. Nevertheless, the cleaning should then take place properly. I'm terribly sorry that this didn't happen. We would like to make it clear that this is not our standard! We will have a clarifying discussion with the external company. This must not happen and we sincerely apologize for it. We have many long term guests with us who only receive weekly or monthly cleaning. These guests like to put the rubbish in front of the door. However, housekeeping should collect this every day. Here, too, a clarifying discussion with the external company is necessary. Also inexcusable is the breakfast staff. We have already initiated the next steps here. Nevertheless, we hope to welcome you again soon. Best Regards Barbara Blessing-Umlauft Operations Manager

This property contains self serviced apartments and is NOT a hotel. There is no option for room service or in-room dining. Staff refused our request for assistance when we asked for basic items which were missing from our room.
It is specified on arrival that housekeeping will be provided every second day. On our second day of our stay, we specifically requested this to remind staff and ensure this happened. It did not.
There is no bar/restaurant area and no other facilities apart from computers in the main lobby.
The location of this accommodation is poor with no local restaurants/cafes/bars nearby.
For the same price and location of this hotel you can certainly find a much more convenient and helpful accommodation, which we will be certain to do on our next visit to Berlin.

Dear npierce895096, Thank you for taking the time to write this value review. We apologize that you were not happy al all. We are a 4star service apartment hotel. But due to construction works our restaurant ist currently closed. Breakfast therefore is offered from the bar. That the reason why the bar is currently closed. The hotel is located directly in Berlin. Just 5 Minutes to walk to alexanderplatz and nikolaiviertel, where you could find a lot of typical german restaurant as well as international food. We would be happy to recommend some. We are sorry, that room service did not apply that well. We will have a talk to our contractor. We hope you will give us another chance to convince you of our quality. Kind regards Barbara Blessing-Umlauft Operations Manager
