I have never stayed in a hostel this clean or well kept before. The dorms were reasonably small (max 6 people), the breakfast was cheap and delicious, and my friends and I joked that we could have spent our entire holiday in the showers (such great water pressure). Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Berlin!

We stayed at the hostel with three other friends and enjoyed it a lot. I think it's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at because of: - small but conveniently organised dorm room (lockers and comfy beds; main light, dimmed light and individual night lights; tiny shelves and sockets next to each bed); - great common area with...

I was in a four bed room. Comfortable, clean, quiet in a cozy atmosphere. The whole building was very neat and tidy. Sympathy and joy was what I found in this space. A very good breakfast to remember the good hotels. I recommend to drink a beer in the bar before going to the room. The ambience is great.

Pfefferbett Hostel is ideal if you're travelling on your own. You can meet people from different places. It's very clean, with a lovely garden for the summer (and lost of wasps :-) but very nice). The breakfast is really good, in quality and quantity. But over all, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommendable.

I was staying in ensuite so attached bathroom was equipped with all facility and modern bright look with high clean. Lockers. heating, and lighting in room was good. Common area downstairs is good place to meet new people. You can...

Overall this hostel provides decent sized rooms (we stayed in a private double), clean bathroom and a good sized communal area (bar, pool table, computers, lounge chairs etc). The staff work hard to accomodate needs and are polite and professional. The breakfast each morning could be considered reasonable if you get the roll/cuppa option (less than 3 euro). However the...

Highly recommended. For a hostel it is quite plush, and was a pleasure to stay in. Very clean and well-located on the U2 line.As an architect I had the serendipitous joy of discovering an architecture museum next door. The absence of WiFi in rooms is a bit of a problem that could be addressed.

This Pfefferbett earns my recommendations for its style, the nice building, lots of young international people and the open fire-place. Its so loved already that you need to book days upfront, and its already very crowded for breakfast and so on.

The hostel was great location. A hop, skip and jump from the metro and close to bars and restaurants. It's about 15-20min walk to Alexanderplatz. Checkin went smoothly, staff very helpful and cool bar/restaurant to relax in. The hostel seemed modern and clean. We stayed in a 8 bed dorm. Room was big, plenty of storage for luggage and lockers...

I arrived to a very warm welcome from Diana on reception, she was very helpful and friendly. I stayed in an 8-bed dorm which was clean, modern and spacious, with comfortable beds. The showers are amazing, the best I've ever had when travelling!! The lounge/bar area is great too, with an open-fire and comfy seating. The place has lots of...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
