Clean hostel, close to Alexanderplatz and S-Bahn. Also Check Point Charlie. Staff are very receptive and helpful, you have a full kitchen to use and share, also you have a delicious breakfast buffet for 4,90 Euro per day and person. They have a Pub and a Basement Lounge, great place to meet new people from around the globe and to...

Perfect location this - just a short walk from Unter den Linden in one direction and Potsdamer Platz in the other... on a pretty quiet street too. Its a hostel, so don't expect 5*, but its clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly. All in all - for a cheap stay in one of Europe's most fascinating capital...

I stayed here a couple of nights during the Berlin Marathon week-end. The hostel is HUGE with a very good location. Building and rooms are a bit bland but perfectly ok with good safety, breakfast and WiFi. Service is friendly and dorms inexpensive. Will probably stay here again if I return to Berlin treveling alone

Very central and proper tidy. Good value for money with very helpful staff. The rooms are big with good beds. The showers are powerful and clean. For a capital city it is good value. Good breakfast with nice coffee.

We stayed there for 3 nights and it costs us 40€ which is very good value for money especially if you are backpacking, it will be hard to find anything cheaper in Berlin! The rooms were okay, free wifi was available and breakfast in the morning, bar is always open and the atmosphere is pretty good.

Having never been to Berlin before, we really chose this randomly. It was luck. The hostel is in a fantastic location, just a 10 minute walk from the Brandenburg gate to the North, 5 minutes to Gendarmenmarkt to the East, 5 minutes to Checkpoint Charlie to the South and about 10 minutes to the Potsdammer plats to the West. If...

Just spent a week there in Sept 2014. The good. Location is in the center next to a metro and walking distance to most of the best attractions. Checkpoint charley and museum island we walked to daily. Only 3 places to exchange dollar to euro's . Ran though 1000.00 us dollars in a week. Don't expect anything to be cheap....

I can't say enough good things about this hostel. I arrived early in the morning after a very difficult train ride with a dead cell phone. Although I was not able to check in to my room yet, the friendly reception staff directed me to a locked luggage storage room, an area where I could charge my phone and relax,...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
